hi there,

 

i'm looking for a way to set a pinglimit when i host an internet game. i want players with a ping of 200ms+ to be kicked automatically.

 

i wasn't able to find any info on that in the forums.

cmon, guys help me out here, its totally kiling the game for me to have such a laggy server. :(

if its not possible, it surely can be made possible.

the following can be scipted and automated:

1-scan all ip's communicating on lomac server port ($client).

2-ping ip's of $client every x min and compute an average per value y.

3-deny access to $client for x min if computed average is above value z.

 

I suck at scripting, but someone with experience can write a decent script in a few minutes. I dont know jack shit about flexible firewalls in windows but in linux this is a 1 2 3 job.

Why 200ms? That's a bit hardcore. Usually anything up to 450 works pretty well in most lock on servers.

No one really addressed the question...

For a combat server, a higher ping (i.e. 450) may be more suitable for the masses, but for 12 inches tight formation flying with spectators it's certainly not, which is why...

I'm looking for the same thing as Der KAHN! Is there a string that can be used in the config or lua files that limits high ping players from connecting???

Sorry to bump this again, but is there a way to limit high ping players from joining or auto kicking high ping players from the server?
