Trailer Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I dunno if anyone else has noticed this, but the F-15 seems mighty sluggish to me in this update. Was there some sort of nerf? The RPMs take a good two to three seconds to go from idle to Mil Power, although pushing through to AB is immediate. Is this more realistic or is this a bug? I also noticed that taking off there is a huge pause in the nozzle position from the idle position to simply getting the jet rolling; it's almost like it gets stuck at a position and jumps forward. Also the sound is choppy during this time as well. I'm using a Saitek X52 and it works fine. It's not an FPS thing because the FPS is great, it just seems like there's a delay between the throttle and the thrust.
gospadin Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Not home to try it out, but it sounds more realistic to me. Afterburner doesn't require the turbine to change speed. http://www.f-15e.info/joomla/technology/engines/101-engines That page quotes 4-7 seconds, depending on the exact engine model. Idle to MIL in the old T-33 apparently took 28 seconds, so 4 seconds isn't bad at all. =P My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E
Trailer Posted October 2, 2015 Author Posted October 2, 2015 That's really impressive, then. The F-15 feels more like a jet now than a spaceship.
