Is the radio fixed?

I have been away for a while, so maybe I am forgetting something. But I cannot figure out how to get the Radio menu (\) to open. I know there were problems in 1.2 with the Mig21 radio, but I thought they were supposed to be fixed in 1.5? Is that correct?

 

Just to make sure I am doing thing correctly. To open the Radio menu, you should have Easy Communications checked in the game options. And just press the \ key? Or do you need your power on, or engines on? I am doing all this, but no menu appears.. I do the same in the released 1.2.16 and the menu does no appear there either. But that is bugged, so I don't rely on that test.

 

In the key binds, it says the radio is \ and channel up/down is [ and ]. But when I press the \ key, I can see the channel knob in the cockpit turn down one channel. And the ] key goes up one channel. And the [ key does nothing. So it seems screwed up.

It seems to be a Windows 10 DirectX problem.. I tested also in a few other games. In Elite Dangerous it did the same thing. It typed a [ when I pressed the \ key. But if I type in a browser or Notepad it types the correct character. :mad:

 

So, this seems to not be specific to DCS. Has anyone heard of any solutions to this problem? I just installed new Logitech Drivers that say they are for Win10, for my K270 wireless keyboard, but that did not fix it..

You can map communications menu to your HOTAS.

Thank you. Yes I know that. But I did have to get this keyboard problem fixed.

 

I finally did get it fixed. It took a combination of Device Manager, uninstalling the keyboard, deleting the Drivers, Device Manager -> File -> Options -> Delete Files. (Not sure what these were). But then it installed my keyboard with other drivers and it works.

I dont have "Easy Communications" ticked (I prefer "simulated communications* : D ) and have remapped the key for open the radio menu for "Tab" key and work OK.

 

The radio still the same of previous versions, including the annoying bug(?) of radio menu automatically open after you contact tower for "Inbounding".

 

In some Quick Missions the communication with ATC only work after open the mission in ME and save, despite communication with ground crew work without do this... : huh:

 

E.g. Could starter mission - now the radio work before start the engine, just turning ON the battery and AC generator (switch the squelch to confirm).

The ATC respond the "Request start-up" (only after open and save the mission in ME).

 

* Select the proper channel to do the communication.

 

BTW - And that QM now has issue with AI flight, one plane spawn in middle of taxiway and both dont start their engines...
