If I understand the new system correctly, when you log into the 1.5 game it connects with your database on the website, checks which modules you own and registers/installs them automatically.

Cause when I updated to 1.5 and entered the game, the game itself asked me if I want to download L-39 which I bought in August without me ever trying to do that before. Then it downloaded the module and then did automatic activation, without me having to do anything, not even type in the cd-key.

Anyway, I just got my new hardware (cpu, mobo, ram) and will be formatting C: and reinstalling windows because of it.

Do I, in view of this new automatic activation, still need to deactivate the modules I have installed? Is there still the system of limited number of activations going?

Or are all activations and module registrations now handled by the in-game system?

Thanks for help!

Yes, you would be well advised to.

I got my L-39C downloaded with no manual activation etc, too - but then it asked me to activate Black Shark, so the older modules definitely still require it.

Thanks for the reply!

Do I have to follow the old instructions on deactivation or is it enough if I go into the module manager and click the checkmarks/boxes to disable module?

module manager has nothing to do with activation / deactivation. It only handles removing the module from the sim or adding it.

For deactivation follow the guide in the manual.
