OttoPus Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 As title says. This is a short video of the problem. Watch at the front gear lights of the A-10Cs on the ground: These are my settings: nVidia GTX 670 with 355.98 drivers Windows 8.1
OttoPus Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 Isn't anyone else experiencing this issue? I can reproduce it very easily on my machine.
OttoPus Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 A little update: the problem is present also with near view at high angles, I'll post screenshot/video asap
alieneye Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 yes, i noticed that as well. looks like light cone is very low res from the distance. also aircraft lights doesn`t affect trees YouTube || Copycats - technology and product clones (primarily aviation) || dgrigoriev.com SPECS: i7 8700K (OK 5GHz), 2xGTX 3080ti, 64GB RAM, 1Tb SSD, WIN 10, 2560x1440, Oculus Rift CV1 || TM Warthog, TIR5, MFG Crosswind pedals
OttoPus Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 Just reporting: the issue is still here in hotfix 3
Bourrinopathe Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Same visuals here, but my guess is it's the current rendering method and not a bug. I have no idea if the projected light cone resolution is externalized in .lua or hardcoded. I see it like the cockpit dynamic shadow resolution: a bit jaggy but a decent compromise for the overall rendering performance. /// ВКБ: GF Pro MkII+MCG Pro/GF MkII+SCG L/Black Mamba MkIII/Gladiator/T-Rudder MkII | X-55 Rhino throttle/Saitek Throttle Quadrant | OpenTrack+UTC /// ZULU +4 /// /// "THE T3ASE": i9 9900K | 64 GB DDR4 | RTX 2080ti OC | 2 TB NVMe SSDs, 1 TB SATA SSD, 12 TB HDDs | Gigabyte DESIGNARE mobo ///
OnlyforDCS Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Yeah, where is the bug exactly? To me this looks perfectly fine. Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.
OttoPus Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 Perfectly fine is something that don't look weird and unrealistic. Compared to other visual things (trees, roads, hangars, distant planes), the lights cone as they are rendered now are truly out of contest. A fact, and in my opinion an issue. vicx Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 DCS A10-C pilots have a near perfect module which is extremely polished and complete. I think it means that they don't really have a lot to focus their attention on in terms of bugs. I'm not saying DCS A10-C fliers are spoiled ... :noexpression: but I do I agree with the OP; these lights are not perfect and awesome.
