DCS 1.5 Beta Huey cyclic freaks out when taking off

I'll report in the beta thread as well, but I was wondering if folks were experiencing this problem. When taking off (I'm testing with the free flight instant action) does anyone's cyclic wobble around? After gaining altitude, it seems to settle down.

I am testing with DK2.

Thanks

I don't have a DK2 because I'm far too poor for such amenities, but I haven't had any problems with 1.5. I have an old x45 (still works fine) and an st290 pro, both of which act normally. It might be worth switching over to a monitor to test it, but I'd be surprised if the DK2 had anything to do with it.

It's strange that the cyclic would freak out dug takeoff, though.

Are you using the controls indicator, to confirm the input it causing the problem, or is it that the helo acts wonky on its own, even though the input remains steady?

If it is the input, I'd suspect something is going on with your stick, perhaps there's some kind of short, causing the stick input to jitter as you move the collective. Might be worth going to the settings, going to axis tune to pitch, then moving the collective as if you were taking off to see if it jitters. Then the same for the roll.

Other than that, not sure what it could be.

It's beta so I'm trying to help out however I can. I'll disconnect the DK2 and see what happens. The thing is, it's reproducible. It only happens during take off. At first, I was trying to figure out why the take off was so hard all of sudden. Then I noticed that the virtual cyclic was flopping around all on it's own. After take off, no issues. So if it were a physical joystick issue, I should have the problem throughout the whole flight.

I'll troubleshoot some more, and report it to the bug forum.

thanks

You probably have already checked this but just make sure you haven't got another stray axis assigned to the cyclic. Every time you install a module, each controller is assigned to all axis and its easy to occasionally miss deleting one which then can cause a conflict. :joystick:

Thanks, yes, I deleted the old Cougar axis that was assigned - out of nowhere. It's just odd that it happens at takeoff. But I will retest and file a bug report if it's not user error.

thanks

Kevinsue, you were right. I deleted the cougar ones, but the F16 stick was still in the system. The F16/TQS was my first Thrusmaster from years ago. After I deleted that column, all's well. Thanks!
