amcutem Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Hi guys, I've been learning how to fly an A10C for a few months now and I would like to try a little bit of multiplayer. However, I have a few questions. 1.) Do I need a microphone? It seems like I do, and this a dumb question:music_whistling: 2.) What's must I know how to do before even trying to play with others? Thanks for any help and answers.
Blooze Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) You will need a mic to use Teamspeak. Get it free HERE (64 bit client) and get it set up. Most open servers have their Teamspeak address shown in the server description window. Then just jump in and go. So many fear that they need to be at a certain skill level to join a multiplayer server but you will find that most servers are filled with a bunch of friendly folks just like yourself that are just having fun. You could register HERE and get on their Teamspeak server (scroll down to see who's on). There are usually a few guys flying a mission depending on your time zone. Either way, Just do it! Devilman Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 1.) Do I need a microphone? It seems like I do, and this a dumb question yes that would be a good idea 2.) What's must I know how to do before even trying to play with others? if you are learning the a-10c, you need to know where your keys are so when the instructor says press tms up or china hat forward you know exactly what they mean. page 88-92 of the a-10c manual [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Join Maddog Simulations DCS World Club & Squadrons for every module
QuiGon Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) 1) A microphone is indeed recommend but in no way necessary for public mp. A lot of the folks on public servers play without voice chat. 2) One specific thing I would recommend to learn in the A-10C for multiplayer are the Data-Link functions. They provide very neat and useful methods for teamplay between A-10Cs. At least you should know how to change your ID (OWN and NET ID) on the TAD to avoid ID-conflicts. See ya online :) Edited October 15, 2015 by QuiGon Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

amcutem Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 looks like quality work being done in your office. Lol. It used to be for doing CAD drawings, until the A10C crashed into my house.
amcutem Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 If anyone needs another A10C as part of their squadron, please let me know. I'm still a newbie so but willing to learn.
