Help with wingman orders

Looking for some help or advice with wingmen. When I give an attack order I'll get a copy or affirmative. Wingman makes attack run but never attacks. I'm using 1.5 so not sure if it's a bug or long standing issue. Are there certain parameters that must be met? Any help appreciated. I always run out of munitions and my wingman has a full load.

Has the wingman been damaged? Sometimes they say "unable" or "rejoin" I think if they don't have the weapon you requested. I just had a mission where my wingman would agree to attack and then never make the run. I could see smoke trailing from him. Maybe that was why.

Question. At one point in the mission, did you tell your wingman to attack with guns?

I am wondering now, if you order an "attack with" to your flight and one of them is out of the requested weapon. Neither will attack. They'll just say "rejoin"

Does that sound likely? It seems they can only do one run with the Mavericks even if they carry more.
