We set up a mission where the AI convoy stops at a waypoint and needs to resume the route when the nearby enemy units are destroyed.

In the trigger list we set the units that need to be destroyed to less than 10% as the condition and when they are destroyed it sets flag 1 to on.

Then in the advanced waypoint options we used the unit "hold" option and checked flag one is off for the condition and the stop condition as flag one being on.

The convoy stops at the waypoint but will not resume after the enemy units are destroyed so we don't know what we're doing wrong.

I searched for a solution on this forum but couldn't find anything helpful. I'm sure there's something simple we're not doing but stumped.

Have you tried skipping the flag 1 off start hold condition, and just using the flag 1 on stop hold condition only? I've experienced a little bit of strangeness when using both start and stop conditions in the past, though the specifics are lost to my hazy memory.

If the flag only goes true when units are destroyed, and is otherwise false, then the start condition isn't necessary...they'll hold at the waypoint they're told to, and then should theoretically stop holding once the flag goes true.

OK, thank you.

That actually makes sense to me since the "hold" command is already set.

So I'm assuming that "Condition" apply to an either/or situation?

We'll give using the flag on for the end condition only a try in the morning.

I tried your suggestion this morning and it still doesn't work. The convoy is stuck at the hold location so something else needs to happen to make it work.

Try an Action of Group Resume to get the group to go off of hold. This has to be after they go on Hold or it won't work :-)

I think the Stop Condition for Hold may be so that it does not take place. If the Stop Condition was met before the point when the group would go on Hold then they would continue on w/o holding.

I have Orbits going where I'll use a flag in the Stop Condition and the flight will then continue on. So that seems at odds with the Hold explanation of mine above. Hope the Group Resume gets your convoy going again...

So you make them hold at the waypoint by using the "Advanced Waypoint Actions" but you make them resume their route by using the "Group Resume" action in the triggers?

Yes.

Make them Hold at the waypoint you want. Have the Group Resume available as a Triggered Action and activate that when the condition is met.

Thanks, Crew! That makes perfect sense. I'm guilty of being a bit of a self-teacher and not spending enough time with the manual haha...

I'm sure a pure-blooded Vulcan would get the logic the first time.

Thanks WC!

That did the trick by the way.
