Some tutorial missions (laser guided missiles tutorial and vikhr / mercury pod are two examples, there may be more) have a problem where default binding for weapon fire does not actually fire the selected weapon.

Some users have already been asking about that. The workaround is to assign some other key to the weapon fire.

Just to give you an idea of how I ran into this problem. I am an avid user of the Saitek HUD software. I removed all the joystick and throttle bindings (except for the axis commands), but leaving the keyboard bindings alone. And then I use the HUD to map button presses to keyboard commands. So as far as the simulator is concerned I operate all the switches with my keyboard.

So am I right in assuming that it fires the wrong weapon or does not fire at all? For the Su-25T there's only 1 button/key whatever to fire a weapon (so long as your with launch parameters), you have to have a weapon selected in order to fire - thus meaning you can't for example fire your cannon whilst using rockets at the same time. If you can produce a track file when you encounter the issue that would be great because often its much easier to diagnose and troubleshoot the issue than with words alone.

Cheers,

I recall I had the same problem firing the Vikhr in DCS 1.2. Seems to be specific to the Training missions, perhaps caused by the fact they use Space to advance the training. I'll try and find my old thread.

If you know how to produce a track while flying a training mission, let me know. I will happily generate one.

I remember reading about the issue here on ED forums before 1.5 was a thing. Maybe I am thinking of the same thread as you, doveman. There it was also suggested to recreate the training mission. Without all the text and voice over, but with the same payload, time of day, enemy configuration and such. Maybe that will help you when searching for the thread.

Hmmm, are you flying the Su-25T tutorial mission involving the Vikhrs and the Mercury LLTV pod? If so I am unable to replicate this issue, following the steps of turning on the AG mode (default is 7) acquiring the target, activating the laser designator, flying the aircraft to position the aiming reticle on the HUD over the target, waiting for a steady LA indication and firing the Vikhr does launch, tracks the laser and successfully hits the target. So long as I follow the steps I can't seem to find an issue with the Vikhrs. Unfortunately training missions do not have a debriefing after you exit the mission - so I am not entirely sure how to generate a track file from one :(

One more thing, have you tried the repair tool for DCS World? Sometimes it can be the solution for a problem such as this.

Cheers,

OK, I found a way of recording a track of a training mission. As it turns out, you just have to select the training mission through a mission select dialog (takes a bit of searching), and not through training dialog.

So, the information:

- Mission track

- DCS key bindings in HTML format

- Saitek Hud programming profile

I would have shared the track by uploading it to the forum, but for some reason it is 16 MB.
