Warning: n00b question follows.

I'm fine with the good old Russian hunks, but when I try to fly an American airplane (well the F-15 at least) I can't shoot missiles. I get a lock-on fine but when I do my evil laugh and pull the trigger the *cannon* fires. Not good in BVR. Uh-uh. Regardless of weather or not cannon mode is on, the puny peashooter still goes off...

The training missions aren't helping, the instructor gets a lock and says "press spacebar to fire", but when I hit my fire button on joystick that stupid cannon shoots instead...

I bet the answer's gonna be like, 3 words long. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Archer

If you have 1.02 or above, you need to hit the "Enter" key now to fire anything other than the cannon in American aircraft. IRL, in American aircraft, those functions are on two seperate switches on the stick...that's why it was changed. The training tracks you are viewing...many of them were made with the original version of Lock-On. ;)

Thanks for impossibly fast reply. Can you set it up to be anything other than enter (what is control name in options?)

Meh, useless American silicon fighters, now they want you to press *another* button before you get to be evil. And I live in the USA... Ahhh irony =p

Thanks again, Archer

It is "release weapon" under the "combat" controls heading. Its just different design philosophy...I'm around a lot of Russian aircraft IRL too, and their ideas are a little strange to me, but they make sense too.

I guess you haven't seen a real F-16,15 cockpit? That is the way it is set up, I see them everyday in my line of duty.

What other things do they do that are strange to you IguanaKing? Always fun to see something different but work just as well, so I'm curious.

How come ED didn't put the 2 separate firing controls for the Russian planes as well? I recall that they fire missile with the different button too. I remember ED changed it for the American planes because people complained a lot.
