geb Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I'm learning my way around the mission editor and am wondering, how can I set map items (buildings, bridges, etc) to be destroyed or even still burning at the mission start? As an example, I'd like to have a mission that includes a building on the friendly airfield getting bombed. Then on the second mission I'd like the mission to begin with the same building either destroyed, or better yet still burning. Any recommendations?
baltic_dragon Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 The simple method would be to place a trigger zone with the centre directly over the building and then in triggers do MISSION START -> Explosion (and choose which zone and how strong explosion you need). Another way is to place an additional building (or more) at the start of first mission and then explode them in the subsequent ones using the trigger, though you are limited to number of types of buildings which are considered as units. Joyride Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I've used a respawning fuel truck + an explosion on a few minute loop to keep smoke present throughout the mission, for similar scenarios. Very effective. Can do it via triggers or scripts quite easily.
