I think I have posted this before a while ago.

Why are the axis all damped?

EG. If you pull the collective up quickly, you will notice that the collective shown in the cockpit moves up slowly.

At first I thought that this was only a problem with the representation of the control position in the cockpit, but then I noticed that the blade pitch changes just as slowly.

Now, I know that this probably makes it a bit easier to fly, but shouldn't there be a setting possible, where what you input via your control is transmitted in real time to the flight model?

You also have a collective friction. But most important, to be able to simulate correctly such machine you need to somehow limit the unreal situations.

Imagine you would input collective max up and collective max down in rapid succession like 4 times per second... imagine the model will try to respond to that in different regimes.... how do you calculate what would happen if such thing is impossible in real life maybe even deadly. What would be the repercussions in the mathematical model for the rest of the situation if you allow such extreme things?

Realistic input simulation is very important, true that it cannot be simulated complete without inducing unwanted lag.

I wouldn't want to go pumping the collective 4 times a second :)

I have never thought about the fact that to replicate such reckless behaviour would necessitate a huge number of calculations in the FM.

I was just wanting to get rid of the last "Flying Aid", as the damping must make it easier to fly.

Thanks for the answer!

The huey is hydraulic assisted. So your collective is also mechanicly moving the control and the hyd actuators back you up. If you could slam the collective up and and down in a split second then your linkage is broke. So in the real helo you also feel resistance.
