Vive and Oculus are behind corner but new player coming in to game, StarVR.

 

It is VR based on two separate screens with resolution of 2560x1440 per eye and FOV of 210° wide and 130° up. Vive and Oculus is around 100°x100°.

That's the beauty of capitalism. Competition begets innovation and consumers win. Of course the killer here is that applications *have* to support it.

 

I wonder what kind of horsepower is needed?

I believe will work. What is the point of producing expensive hardware just for one game?

 

Major VR will be standardize so will work same as Vive or Oculus. Only problem will be 5K graphic, to be more precise minimum hardware requirements.

 

For this we will need just better SLI/CF support just like for 4K TV but this feature of full FOV is worth to buy another graphic card. It will be similar like for multiple monitors. Lowering details or buy additional GPU.

 

Also DX12 support will help a lot because it have better optimization for multi core usage and multi GPU usage. That is major advantage of DX12.

 

Any way future is bright.
