Found a cheap X52 stick to replace my old unit which broke about a year ago (to go with the still functioning throttle) but there is a problem with it: When plugged in, the first thing i noticed was the LEDs (only on the stick) were flickering in a repetitive manner (once every second or so). I then noticed in the device properties the inputs would reset to their default position every time the LEDs blinked. I also noticed the power light on the stick doesnt blink with the LEDs which makes me believe its not a power issue. Its kinda hard to explain but I could always make a video if not clear.

Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

Had similiar issues with my x52pro:

  1. I was using an extension USB cable and the the female recepticle wasn't fitting very snug onto the joysticks usb cable, so I crimpted the outer metal sheath to hold plug snuggly, fixed my flashing LCD, unresponsive HOTAS, etc.
  2. The round svhs plugs in the throttle body and Joystick also become unreliable and lose connection intermittently. Pressed these in hard and continuing to operate OK.

Might have other issues, but sounds a bit like an intermittent connection issue, check your cables.

Thanks for the quick reply

Checked the USB and seemed to plug in snugly

Also tried fiddling with the cable joining the stick to the throttle and didnt seem to help

check the pins of the joystick-throttle connector cable aswell. Maybe smthing is loose or twisted there. Especially check the small pins of the connector. Those are for the signals.

Pins look fine. Even tried with a different ps/2 cable but same problem.
