goosemilk Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 What HiJack did allow my system to make it to the menu more often,
sFalcon Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 The render3D off option should not make any difference from booting up DCS 1.5 to the menu It just disables the 3d world to save resources.. So you will only see a black screen ingame on the server [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] _______ sFalcon.
sslechta Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 So Falcon, been playing around with that registry setting. No luck getting the main menu on for long. I saw some posts about the cloud background and changing it to a module background. Have you seen a way to do this through a lua file? I think that's the next hurdle in getting this server up. HiJack Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Or just edit file settings.lua in DCS.openbeta\MissionEditor to show the Su-25T skin as skin template. ["mainMenu"] = { ["skinName"] = "Su-25T by Eagle Dynamics1", },
HiJack Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Hey Hijack. Attached pic shows the editor, file location, and contents of the config file. Updated to the patch released yesterday and still having the crash issues when all 8 CPUs max out on splash screen at startup. Yes, your server is a bit low on resources. For now the splash screen and that unified .exe file is creating these problems. I hope ED will be more on server hosters side in the times that comes so we can have a slim server executable with low resource demanding menus and no backgrounds. :smartass:
sslechta Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Thanks guys. I'll probably set the SU25 background tonight and see if that helps. I really appreciate everyone's effort to assist on Server 2012 / DCS 1.5 issues. sslechta Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Great news folks! The SU25 menu skin tweak worked. We are able to get into the main screen now. @Falcon - Lowest resolution and window mode was already set before I posted to this thread. goosemilk Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) So far its good -HiJack jump in made some changes which improve my chances to get to the menu but it will still crash when I attempted to login. -I made regedit change but instead of QWORD (which didn't work for me) I had to use DWORD (32bit). That got me to login menu. -Instead of logging in I exit to make graphic changes: Change everything to lowest settings, made SU-25 default wallpaper (for some reason editing the file directly didn't work). -I then logged into my DCS account, saved account info and set to auto-login. -I restarted DCS 3 times and rebooted the system twice. I fired up DCS and all is good so far. -I tried to fire up a multiplayer server and it crashed with D3D errors. I did not have render3d = false. -Made autoexec.cfg change to options.graphics.render3d = false -restarted DCS, loaded up multiplayer, fired up a mission. Crashed with DX11backend error -I changed TdrDelay to 10 (from 8 ). Rebooted -Fired up DCS, went to multiplayer, loaded a mission and it came up. -Restarted, Fired up DCS, went to multiplayer, loaded a mission and it came up. Now, I don't know if the server actually work for players. It will have to wait till I get home or someone randomly log into it. For some reason commands don't work, like seeing what players are logged in, bringing up the chat/message window. EDIT: all was done via VNC from a Macbook Pro (not sure how important that is but it is here as an FYI) Edited November 17, 2015 by goosemilk
HiJack Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Glad to see you got it running. Change the keyboard bindings for all server management functions to something else and they work.

Pelmo Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Hi friends, I need your help! I have problems with my server. The server with DCS 1.2.6 everything works smoothly. With DCS 1.5.1 is a disaster! I read and re-read your answers and I did everything as you have described, but I have not solved anything. The thing that makes me crazy is the fact that sometimes I can start the game, but most of the time not. The technical features of the server are: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Intel ® Xeon ® CPU @ 3.20GHz E3-1225 v3 32 GB RAM Visual C ++ Redistributable 2013 is installed I use TightVNC to connect to the server I created the file autoexec.cfg and I set options.graphics.render3D = false In the game options, the graphics are set to minimum The resolution is set to 1024X768 although I would prefer to have a higher resolution, because I can not see the full picture of the MP, but I do not know why the program TightVNC does not make me access the server with a higher resolution. Where can I change the resolution? With the standard program of windows RDP, I can easily access to the server with the original resolution of my PC 2560 X 1440 and I can also launch DCS 1.2.6 without problems! I attach the log files in the hope that some of you will understand something, because frankly I'm not a hacker! I do not understand what each of these items :-( I await your tips! sslechta Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Pelmo, standard RDP was not an issue. I did not need to TightVNC. As far as lowering resolution, just do that in the option settings in game. I did not see that you tried the registry change. Check that out and you may be good. sFalcon Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) @Pelmo You can increase the GPU processing time by adjusting the Timeout Detection and Recovery registry value. However, you should do it carefully, because any mistake can cause conflicts. Here is how: 1. Exit all Windows based programs. 2. Go to Start and type regedit in the Search box. In the results, double-click regedit.exe. 3. Browse to and then click "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\GraphicsDrivers". 4. Click New in the Edit menu list. From the drop-down menu, select DWORD (32-bit) value. Then type TdrDelay as the Name and click Enter. Double-click TdrDelay, add 8 for the Value data and click OK. After all these done, reboot your computer. try value 8 first, reboot, if it dont work try value 10, reboot ========== Make sure you have installed C++ Redistributable 2013 x64 and x86 both ============ Put this in your documents folder for no clouds background http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=127517&d=1447672699 ============ Put this in your autoexec.cfg options.graphics.render3D = false options.graphics.fullScreen = false options.graphics.width = 1024 options.graphics.height = 768 Edited November 17, 2015 by sFalcon [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] _______ sFalcon.

Pelmo Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Fortunately there is a user forum with you! Otherwise I would never have managed to set up the server. From what I read around, it would seem that the main users of DCS World are players who play only in SP . I'm very sorry this :-( Question: Why in this forum is not a thread, that explains step by step, how to install DCS World on a dedicated server and how to configure it? I think it would be useful to many users, or not? It would also be nice to see admins of DCS coming to address issues with the game since my whole squadron has spent thousands of dollars supporting this sim.
