Cobra360 Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 You learn a lot of stuff everyday here people.:smartass:
Weta43 Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 D-Scythe - yes it is doubtful - I find it about as unlikely as the Raptor Radome actually blocking all radar signals but it's own. Cheers.
nscode Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Hmmm... could be done... all sorts of ideas poping all over my mind... piezo cristals changing micro-geometry in syncro with own radar and own rwr... and such crazy blabering :D Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
Weta43 Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 The crazy blabbering idea or the piezo-electric idea? (I just had to ask :-) You could comparatively easily make the dome absorb/block all frequencies outside those that your return might feasably have when returning from a target closing/fleeing at maximum speed (edit - D-Scythe - you've added this to your post 'bandpass resonant radome and low signature radar.' & this is pretty much what I'm describing, but that's not the same as blocking all signals except your own.) blocking all but your own - Apart from the obvious problems of not knowing when your own signal will arrive back or what it will look like when it does get back (untill you've processsed it - otherwise you'd already know the targets range, course & speed - & then you wouldn't need the radar), & the dubious advantages of having a radome that is only transparent to your own signals, wouldn't it be simpler to make the radar transparent to all signals, let the antenna have a look at all signals returned, receive & process what you want & absorb the rest to avoid generating a return? Cheers.
