Fri13 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 2 will the system be improved? Now that the tactics command can do too little. Attack to complete the formation can not supply Can not change the battle plan AI will only be passive. The Combined Arms seems to be like a "0.2" in current state from what Eagle Dynamic dreams(?), or if being more rude then it is like they didn't really plan to do anything special with it, why they keep low price on it as it was more of a side hobby on rainy day. There is so much potential, if they could just offer actually great flexible RTS elements, direct fluid and easy camera control and easy way to jump in to control specific unit, find them from the unit list etc. The AI should be improved radically, to be more dynamic and independent than relaying to mission designer ideas. Like if tactical commander wants to make a new attack group on the fly, it should be possible. Meaning if mission designer made two T-55 platoons (2x3) and enemy has destroyed three units, two from platoon A and one from platoon B. Then the tactical commander should be able to either resupply the platoons or simply combine them as new group. If tactical commander sends a units to move on road and AI spots a attack aircraft or attack helicopter, the units should seek the closest air cover ASAP, report the situation to tactical commander via radio and actually prepare for defensive positions if tactical commander has so allowed. Meaning that infantry gets unloaded from APC/IFV and are scattered to air support tasks. Units should move around buildings and other cover to stay in cover, instead sit still like snowman waiting someone coming to melt it with blowtorch. Tactical commander should be able to lay some basic rules to groups, like engagement ranges, zones, set units rally points, defensive A and B positions etc. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Oscar Juliet Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Right now, CA, is playable. I have my youtube channel in my signature. Just made a recent CA video with commentary as I play. What would make it better would be to make it have a lot of features RTS would. Camera views, ease of deployment, and all that good stuff. Then to appeal to those who love a good tank/armor sim...find a company willing to do vehicle modules. I'm sure people would purchase a M1A1 / T80 module for some realistic action on the ground. Not everyone wants to be a pilot but it is sure fun to play with real people. On the ground and in the air. My Youtube Channel
QuiGon Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 There is a huge upgrade in the works for CA. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Rabb Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 There is a huge upgrade in the works for CA. Glad to hear that. I've enjoyed CA on some servers a lot. And on HolloPointe we actually managed to coordinate ground/air assets in assaults quite nicely couple of times. One of the things I would like to be implemented the most at the moment is "follow the leader", ie. AI members of a detachment to follow a human player :smilewink: .
