tomcatter Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Just dream and be happy my friend...¡¡¡¡ I´m waiting for years to fly the Hornet and come back to the carrier after a long mission with the top quality and immersion that ED gave us. It will come to us sooner or later, don´t worry, enjoy the feeling and enjoy the process of learning the aircraft and find info and documents about flying a Hornet from a carrier.
ebabil Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 yeah, i will watch this video looped when i get home FC3 | UH-1 | Mi-8 | A-10C II | F/A-18 | Ka-50 III | F-14 | F-16 | AH-64 | Mi-24 | F-5 | F-15E| F-4| Tornado Persian Gulf | Nevada | Syria | NS-430 | Supercarrier // Wishlist: CH-53 | UH-60 Youtube MS FFB2 - TM Warthog - CH Pro Pedals - Trackir 5
recoil17 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I think there's more to this video. If somebody modeled this thing on their own, they'd be claiming it. I know if I made something this nice, I'd want people to know it's mine. When I watched the video it reminded me if Glowing Amraam's videos. I feel like there's some similarities to his videos and this mysterious video. Even back when he did his Project X video, he was focusing on new water physics. There's also a video he did with Black Shark 2 of him landing on a ship on rocky waters. He said that ED requested him to make a video showcasing a vehicle landing on a ship in rough waters. I also think it's the same model that "SuperVaisa" had posted before. There's many similarities like tow tractor placement on both carriers (very close). This is obviously a newer and more detailed look at it, but I believe it's the same model. Then there's the obvious things, like the time the video was published, the account it was published from, etc. etc. Some quick examples... I'm on a work computer so they're not very well put together. Here's a picture from SimHQ about the carrier posted on the ED Russian forum by SuperVaisa. Notice how the white tow tractor is in the same exact place, along with the textures and other parts of the carrier. Here's the carrier from the recent video The video uses a lot of similar effects that Glowing Amraam use like when the screen fades black and transitions to another scene and this blue light Project X video End of the recent video, with similar effects Amraam uses I'm excited for a possible F/A-18C release and Carrier ops and it's fun to speculate. "Simultaneous selection of fuel dump and afterburner during high AOA maneuvering may cause fuel to ignite with resulting fuselage damage."
AG-51_Razor Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) Also, if CVN-74 becomes the updated CVN for DCS, then there will be more than one updated carrier coming to DCS. The Stennis didn't start it's first cruise till 1998, so it's out of the timeframe for Leatherneck's F-14A (and almost out of the timeframe for their F-14B). I do enjoy watching the video though. :D -Nick Surely, that little detail wouldn't keep you from flying your Tomcat off of it, would it?? I posted this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2616260#post2616260 about 4 days ago and was very surprised at the absence of any comments. I was afraid that I had stepped into someone else's bowl of Cheerios. Edited December 30, 2015 by AG-51_Razor [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
BlackLion213 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Surely, that little detail wouldn't keep you from flying your Tomcat off of it, would it?? Of course not. :) I would just squint when looking past the island and refuse to acknowledge certain details....kind of like I do with dirty dishes at home. ;) I posted this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2616260#post2616260 about 4 days ago and was very surprised at the absence of any comments. I was afraid that I had stepped into someone else's bowl of Cheerios. Sorry, missed your post. It may be old news to some. Not knowing the origins or significance of this video, many of us are waiting a bit longer before getting too excited. However, I do think that 2016 could be an awfully good year for us USN fans. :D New Years is a good time for hope! -Nick

The bet involves a wee dram of whiskey, which is a win-win deal in and of itself but I'd be just as happy to lose the bet! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
