SnowTiger Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I have been flying the Huey since it came out. I love it. I use the X-55 Rhino Hotas. Since v1.5 and v2, I have been having a serious issue with my Throttle. I have the throttle linked to my Thumb (underside) Wheel/Rotary. When I Increase Collective, the Throttle moves (in-game ... not my rotary) making the Huey lose power .. not a good thing ! I have a Dead Zone in the Band I created to control the Throttle in the Saitek Profiler. But in v1.5 , I have to keep the throttle rotary advanced towards the throttle-up position to prevent it from moving during flight/collective adjustments. In v.2 this does not seem to help. In fact, in v.2 the Throttle Fluctuates dramatically when I move the collective BUT the twist throttle does NOT move (in-game). It just acts like it ought to be moving. Anyone else having this issue ? Anyone got a solution for me ? Thanks in Advance. ESAc_matador Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) Check your controls input. Probably same axis for two different controls. Edited December 6, 2015 by ESAc_matador
SnowTiger Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 I wish it were that easy. In fact, I have the collective run only by my Saitek Profile software. Because I have to use Bands to allow any Rotary to do anything, there is Nothing programmed in DCS Options for the Throttle. Only the Collective and it uses only 1 axis (X-55 split throttle as a single). This is a DCS issue as far as I can tell. Plus this issue never existed in 1.2.16 SnowTiger AMD Ryzen 9 7950X - Zen 4 16-Core 4.5 GHz - Socket AM5 - 170W Desktop Processor ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI 6E Socket AM5 (LGA 1718) Ryzen 7000 gaming motherboard Geforce RTX 4090 Gaming Trio X - 24GB GDDR6X + META Quest 3 + Controllers + Warthog Throttle, CH Pro Pedals, VKB Gunfighter MKII MCG Pro G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo Series 64 GB RAM (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 RAM
cichlidfan Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Saitek software only not withstanding. Did you check to make sure the sim did not assign an axis to it? SnowTiger Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Thanks for the reply cichlidfan. In fact, I have triple checked the Options to make sure nothing was set up. I even tried the Throttle Axis setting with my Saitek Profile (using Bands for the thumb wheel) and I tried it without the Saitek Profile. Finally, I cleared the DCS Options for Throttle (which I had set up to test) and I eliminated my Saitek Profile. This is the ONLY configuration that resulted in a properly working throttle using only the Keyboard Commands "PageUP" and "PageDown". Previously, my Saitek Profile Bands controlled these two keyboard commands. I never had this issue (Throttle "seemingly" Linked to Collective) in DCS 1.2.16, only in 1.5 and 2. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter to me if I have to use the Keyboard for this function. The only time you use the Throttle is when you starting up and shutting down (at least that I know of) because of the way the Huey's Throttle works. It's always at full throttle and there is a switch to increase/decrease the throttle a slight amount which I do still have programmed on my Hotas. Thanks again guys. I don't think this is worth reporting to Belsimtek or DCS yet. I'll wait to see if future updates have any affect OR if/when other problems arise.
