Romik Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Just to let you know, I posted a thread in a russian part of the forum about the possibility to map "i button" on X52 without loosing SST programming abilities and clutch abilities. The text is on both Russian and English languages. Hope you'll find it useful: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=16972 Athlon64 3500+; A8V-DX; 1Gig PC3200; Quadro4 980XGL; SCSI; Win2K3; MacBook Pro 17" X52 tweak: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=16972
Sleek Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 "i button" on X52 what's that?..i got a X52? Be Good..Be Strong..:drink: ;)
NEODARK Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 ah thanks, cool info... it always bugged me I could not use that button for something else.
Romik Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 "i button" on X52 what's that?..i got a X52? it's a clutch button located on throttle it has a marking "i" and used to switch profiles or to see what have u assigned to a key. if you use SST you can not assign this key to any other function which I found to be inconvenient and decided to fix :-) Athlon64 3500+; A8V-DX; 1Gig PC3200; Quadro4 980XGL; SCSI; Win2K3; MacBook Pro 17" X52 tweak: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=16972
zaelu Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Very nice discovery. Can I ask you to research another thing? I hate twisty sticks with whole my guts :D :) , so I soldered my stick inside the twisty lock mechanism to reduce the "wooble" of the stick, which worked for half part. But... ...there are 9 axis on the X52 if you put the ministick to be axis and windows can't see more than 8. Apparently the ministick axis are the last ones to be listed and because they are somehow linked they are removed both of them from usage. So the stick remains with just...7 axis: X and Y, throttle, precission slider, 2 rotaries and the infamous twisty rudder. Well mine has 6 because I soldered one... the darn twisty rudder. I think many like me are using rudder pedals, so I would love to put back the two ministick axis back where they belong and have my mouse asigned diferently than the ministick. Can it be done via registry editing or something? :joystick: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
Romik Posted July 7, 2006 Author Posted July 7, 2006 Can it be done via registry editing or something? Well, I did try something but it's not that obvious. I suspect that they handle the ministick in a totaly different way than all other axises and I even doubt that they are "real" axises but just "hidden". (don't quote me since I didn't do much of a research) But probably I won't go deep into that since I'm using that twist and don't really want to mess with something I use. Sorry :-) I heard that there is some programs that "converts" mouse to stick, I would guess it may be a workarround for your problem. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the tool. Pilotasso Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=16972 here it is for better viewing: ----------------------------END RUS--------------------------- -------------------------------ENG---------------------------- Few weeks ago I bought my X52 and became obsessed with so called Clutch button that I cannot map anywhere. I decided to correct the situation. There is two way to make it work 1)kill the drivers and SST and you can use it, but you lose the possibility to program your stick. 2) you can move the clutch button somewhere else for example on RESET key :-) More than that you don't loose your clutch functionality (for the maniacs that used to switch profiles while in game) nor reset. BE ADVISED THAT WHATEVER YOU DO, YOU DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK I did NOT perform extensive tests of that solution, but it works very good for me. Environment: SST and drivers (4.3.3.2000 и 5.0.0.2000 respectively), OS: Windows 2003 Server so here are steps to follow: i)open registry (start>run>regedit [press OK]) ii)search for "AviemoreCltBtn" without quotes with the following parameters: "search for value" and "match the whole string only". iii)By default the values are: in decimal: 30 or hexadecimal:1e change it to in decimal: 29 or hexadecimal:1d !!!you may find multiple instances, so do it for every one!!! iv)Close the registry, unplug from USB and plug back the stick. You are done. Now the clutch button is moved to RESET and "i button" is free to be assigned. I use it in Ventrilo as push-to-talk button. I hope you'll find it useful :-) EDIT: forgot to mention that I didn't yet find a way to program this button in the SST so you have to program it in a game or application (teamspeak, ventrilo, whatever...) you want to use. Thanks for the Info matey. :) .

It can also work really cool as target designator. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
Black_Hawk Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 How do I assign it as PTT in Teamspeak? It does not recognize it... :( 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
VapoR Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Nice work!! I've always wanted to be able to use that button . . . How do I assign it as PTT in Teamspeak? It does not recognize it... :( I get the same problem . . . I've mapped it as Dispense Flare through Lock-on, but I can't get TS to recognize it.
Romik Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 How do I assign it as PTT in Teamspeak? It does not recognize it... :( TS recognizes only a keypress from a keyboard... Some programs (Ex: Ventrilo) support DirectInput from game controllers. If you can find an third party keymapper, that can work. Black_Hawk Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Oh heck, I'll just map this thing in LO as airbrake. My intention was to use it as a PTT button and the fire D as airbrake, but this makes little difference. I'm happy with it as it is now :smartass: "i" is airbrake, Fire D is PTT :pilotfly: 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
hyperfighter Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 How do I assign it as PTT in Teamspeak? It does not recognize it... :( no idea what ptt is but assign it to a normal key in teamsp. and program that key to a button using sst programming would be a workaround i guess

The amount of necro-ing around here makes me wonder if some people have some weird forum settings that starts with Day 1 and works forwards to the present. :detective: is this a problem with the simulator? Because Im having all kinds off issues trying to fly and trying to use my Trakir4 pro clip. no zoom in or out feature on the sim. if I key bind it; it goes nuts flippy floppy around on the screen. some times the aircraft does not respond to the inputs either.
