Hey All,

I have a triplescreen setup and need to set my FOV to 140 for most planes.. The KA-50 is set at 130.. but my problem is in MP I noticed my Changed FOV does not take??

I set it to 140 in FC3 planes and when I was in a MP Server this morning the FOV looked like 100..

I tried it in SP and it looked like 140.. now I am wondering can the HOST Set the FOV or something similar??

I need a lot of FOV especially in the Su-25T.. Any word on this from anyone who knows??

this is in 2.0 Nevada

Yes, this has always been in DCS. Most servers are fine but I did encounter one today that didn't allow my modded FOV. I'm trying to remember which setting/file it is that the host needs to change, but can't remember at the moment. This is quite annoying because it basically makes it unplayable for us on some servers and the host likely has no idea they're doing it.

I think it's a .lua file inside the mission's file (Config/View/server.lua).

When this file does not exist the client can use his own server.lua but when file resides inside the mission file (.miz), the client will use the mission's server.lua file.

This has to be fixed on the sever side, the mission has to be unzipped, the server.lua file removed and zipped back.

(except if they changed this behaviour in 1.5/2.0...)

Well they should not do it this way as when I goto fly a Su25T all I see is the HUD.. I think this should be fixed or changed on who sets the FOV.. if the host is not aware of this it is a bust..

You might consider contacting the server's admin and/or check with the other players if they have the same issue.

I assume you have the issue only on this specific server?

Also, are you using multiple screens? It's possible that only people using special resolutions are affected.

Well I don't feel like contacting every server out there.. I had this happen 3 times on 3 different servers..

Yes I use TripleScreens and I usually fly with my Squad but sometimes I like going up when everybody else is sleeping ..

I think this should not be set by the host is all I am saying.. ;)

Not necessarily set by the server host, it is a feature of the Mission Editor, so it is the mission designer that causes the problem if he uses the Prepare mission option.

Some mission designers use it to pre-configure a mission with preset radio frequencies and other aircraft parameters, the file mentioned above is one of many that gets saved in the mission file.

Been an issue for a long time and is an issue for many a triple screen client.
