jimcarrel Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Just did a 1 1/2 hour trip on the NTTR map with the MI-8. About half of the way through it was getting pretty close to sunset, hard to see real clear just from the light, then I started noticing bug splatter on the windshield - and there was more than I remember seeing ever before. Question is, was this an added effect at sometime? or was it just my imagination? It was pretty neat when thinking it was an actual effect. vicx Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 jimcarrel of course it could be your imagination. Still I did enable a debug setting for cockpits last week that draws a box on all types of visual elements and overlays. Every now and then a tiny little box would pass by or through the canopy. Was it a software bug or a feature bug? This was in the Sabre ...
jimcarrel Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 I'll have to check it out again on a long trek. Thing is, I usually take the MI-8 out for a spell around different bases (short periods practicing in it, landings still get me most times) and I'm aware of tiny smudges on the glass, but at the end of this 1 1/2 hour thing, it was really buggy and some were a bit larger than just a dark speck here and there. It might turn out that it will be just a fond memory. Win 10 64 bit Intel I-7 7700K 32GB Ram Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6gig
Devrim Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hey guys, have you ever engaged windshield wiper? Maybe it will wipe bugs, or do worse. :) Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
Rogue Trooper Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 It would be a very nice addition if bug/dust splatter increased with landings and flight duration. Likewise a working wiper to clear or smear the mess would be just as awesome, especially when compared to the un-wiped windows. I did a 2 hour flight in the MI-8 on Sunday and did not notice an increase in window splatter.... but I was too busy being awed by Nevada.
