Emu Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I currently have DCS World, FC3, A-10C and Ka-50. My hard drive just took a dump and I'm now scrambling for a new PC. What is the score as regards re-downloading them? I only had my work stuff backed up.
cichlidfan Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 You can redownload as much as you want, there are no restrictions. You have lost an activation if you system disk died but that is all. ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1
spacenavy90 Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 You gain activations back over time too. And if for some reason you legitimately run out of activations, ED will hook you up. Don't worry. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] | Mi-8MTV2 | MiG-21 | M-2000C | F-86F | P-51D | BS2 | UH-1H | FC3 | CA 1.5 | A-10C | i7 2700k --EVGA GTX970 --16Gb RAM --Seiki 39" 4K --Saitek X-55 Rhino --Saitek Pro Flight Pedals --TrackIR 5 --Win10 x64
cichlidfan Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 You gain activations back over time too. Actually, after you use your last activation, you gain one after thirty days. That is it until you use that one, after which you will again get a new one after 30 days. Emu Posted December 10, 2015 Author Posted December 10, 2015 Will I need the activation number from the old PC, or is it IP based?
cichlidfan Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 You will need your activation codes. If they were purchased/registered on ED's site then your account will have a record of them. Emu Posted December 10, 2015 Author Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) I did but I can't remember any details of my login. I've contacted eagle. Hopefully there's a way of tracing it. If not, looks like I'll be buying them again. I least in a week my computer will no longer slow down when watching cluster bombs.;) New spec on order: i5-6600K ASUS Pro Gaming MB 16 GB Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black, 2666MHz EVGA GTX 980 Ti 6GB GDDR5 Sound Blaster ZxR 5.1 Samsung 850 EVO SSD 512GB 24xDVD R/W Acer Predator XB281HK Edited December 26, 2015 by Emu
cichlidfan Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Well, good luck with it. Yes, that rig should do fine, though I am not a fan of combo SSD/HDD drives. Emu Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Right I've find my login to the DCS site, can I use that to re-download?

What's the issue with SSHDs? Ah just looked it up. But turns out I actually ordered a standard HDD (the default anyway). Edited December 11, 2015 by Emu
Emu Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 So am I right in thinking I simply: 1. Go to the DCS site and login. 2. View Profile & click on game Details. 3. Get 26 digit Product Key (+ 4 dashes), e.g. XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX. 4. Download module again, enter product key too activate. Do I need any other keys to activate.

Nope, only keys for the modules you want to install. Okay, and I can redeem the Product/CD Key for my Steam purchased A-10C by following this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113587 And then download that from the DCS site instead of Steam if I want?

Thats right. Steam keys work on the standalone but the keys from the eShop will NOT work on Steam. Emu Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 (edited) Okay I have a problem in Steam. I bought DCS A10-C from Steam not DCS World, and when I right click, as above, the drop down is different. No View CD Key?? Edited December 15, 2015 by Emu
Emu Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 DO I need to redownload it from Steam before getting the 'view key' option? Which kind of defeats the object.
cichlidfan Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I 'think' that if you just start the download of DCS World, and then cancel it, then you will be able to see DCS World in you library and access the DLC tab for the key. Sporg Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Okay I have a problem in Steam. I bought DCS A10-C from Steam not DCS World, and when I right click, as above, the drop down is different. No View CD Key?? You just click the "CD Key" option in the menu to the right. Then you can see your key.
