Updater stuck at Updating Myself and Initialising

Hi,

 

I've recently been trying to upgrade from DCSW 1.2 to 1.5.1 and only managed to get the game fully-working with Steam as i don't have to update the game myself. I'm planning to buy FC3 and i want to get it to work on standalone 1.5.1

 

I've tried reinstalling with and without Bitdefender for at least 7 times already but with no good effect.

 

This is what usually happens:

1. I download the torrent and i install it (I tried installing it in my C:\ drive aswell in my external G:\ drive).

2. I run it once and it usually goes directly in the update phase where my whole computer get semi-frozen. This or it just starts the game without updating (in version 1.5.0).

3. I uninstall the game and restart the whole process.

 

As i said, i get two windows while trying to update, the "Updating Myself" and the "Initialising" window. I really don't know what else to do. I've been looking on the Hoggit thread too and i couldn't fix the problem.

 

Please, if you can help me solve this I'd highly appreciate it.

Hang fire DCSW 1.5.2 is coming.

I know it's coming but it's not live yet and i'd like to get this version fixed just in case the problems perpetuate :3.

Lol I am about to wear that darned " Update DCS World 1.5 Open Beta" shortcut I have no my desktop, slap out. Going to have to delete it and put a fresh one to replace it.

Found the solution if anybody still needs an answer :)

 

Download the working updater from http://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/.

 

Then replace the updater found in DCS World/bin with this one

 

Run it and it should work
