Controller Profile Importer

It would be nice to have a means to simply import one's controller settings from DCS 1.5.2 (or 1.2) directly into DCS 2.0.0 with the click of a mouse.

 

If there are ways to do it, please tell me. If not, please have some way to save the customer from having to go back and rebuild all the inputs by hand.

Sure there is, though you need to do it for each controller.

 

In the controller menu, highlight the column for the appropriate controller for what you have set up. Click on "save profile as". This will save your controller setup for that specific controller. It will save a copy in your saved games folder for the appropriate version. I always save my controller profiles for each controller to have a copy for safekeeping. If I make any changes to them , I save them again.

 

Then, when needed , again highlight the specific controller column, and click " load profile". Browse to the saved profile, and select it.

 

While not one click, it can be done for each controller in this way. Just be careful you have the right column selected for the profile you are loading. Might also want to wipe out the default button assignments it throws in there on an initial install prior to doing this.

 

Disclaimer: ED does not recommend doing this between versions, rather they recommend rebuilding from scratch with a new version, as it could cause issue.

Thanks, Don B - I was aware of that, but that can be rather onerous to go controller by controller...I have 8 attached :/ If that's the best solution now, so be it...it would be good to have something to import them, though :)
