hawa0835 Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." Hm what to do. I have tried all.

hawa0835 Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 DCS must go back to the older system now! I see that there are so many problems with updates and installations. I am now considering to abandoning the DCS brand, this is because it is not even possible to install the software with the new installer. You must go back to the old system, because the new works bad or not at all. Then you could download the software separately, and the modules individually. Nothing works now.
Flagrum Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 lol? There were some issues where the module installation did not go as smooth as it probably should, yes. But "nothing works"? erm, for you maybe? But if you don't say what the issues are ... well ...
Oznerol256 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I personally never had a problem with it. The built-in torrent client gives me download speeds of 5MB/s or more (yes, megabytes not megabits). "nothing works" is not a very helpful statement. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hawa0835 Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 I have tried to update in earlier 1.5 open beta without result, only error messages. And now when I try to install the 1.5 release I only get error messages, and the installation quit. So I don't know what to do.
Oznerol256 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Well what are the error messages? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hawa0835 Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 The error messages is that another application is run. In beta I tried to install in windows safe mode to get the updater to work. I also tried to repair the update, but nothing works.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted January 10, 2016 ED Team Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) Hi please tell us which anti virus you are using is it just malwarebytes? Oznerol256 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Its probably a lock file somewhere that was not deleted when you killed the updater in the past. Try finding and manually deleting it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hawa0835 Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 Anti virus I use F-secure and Malwarebytes.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted January 10, 2016 ED Team Posted January 10, 2016 are you sure your secruity software is not using the file? Coug4r Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Had something similar, i left the error message on screen and copied the file manually and it worked. In my case it was dcs_updater itself if i remember correctly. - If man were meant to fly he'd be filled with helium.
hawa0835 Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 Im see no land. Yesterday I tried to run the computer in "safe mode with network", and Before that I shut of F-secure and malwarebytes, but I get the same error message again, i.e. That Another process run. Well, I could be some light if I know what process it is, then I could have a Little opportunity to solve the problem. But I don't know what it is.:helpsmilie:
Coug4r Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Have you tried deleting the destination file if it exists? The 'Autoupdate_templog_old.txt' file. - If man were meant to fly he'd be filled with helium.

hawa0835 Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 Yes I have rebooted and tried a lot of options, latest was to try to disable or set in autamatic mode, the Application experience, that I saw in a thread here. I have also update the updater manually, i.e. downloaded the latest and replace it manually in bin. Also I have deleted the old log file.
hawa0835 Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 If I only know. If I only could figure out which process that is blocking the whole installation and update?:Flush:
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted January 12, 2016 ED Team Posted January 12, 2016 Try using something like process explorer to find which process is using the file Forum rules - DCS Crashing? hawa0835 Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 Computer Maybe the only solution to the problem is to get a brand new rig. :cry_2:

hawa0835 Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 Process Monitor I just jokeing. I have no problem, but the computer is old. Intel I5 quad core+Nvidia560Ti+8GiG Ram. FPS is OK. I send a file from Process Monitor, same vendor as Process Explorer, a program there you can see what happens and "freeze it" after I start the Updater. I run it in "Show Process and Thread Activity" Sorry that I don't understand a thing of it, but perhaps someone does.
