lockon2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Hello all, I'm having a hard time running DCS Flamming Cliffs 3 on my usual computer, hence I am looking at how to upgrade it and will probably get a Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB drive. But, before I do that, how do I tell if the motherboard I have will support a SATA 6 GB/sec connection as is required for the SSD?
cichlidfan Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Get the brand and model of the motherboard and check the manufacturers web site for the manual. BitMaster Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Actually, if your board only sport Sata-II it will not actually differ a lot in daily use, trust me. I run a few 850Pro's in different PC's, from this rig in sig down to a 6 year old Dell Latitude Core2Duo which my wife and sometimes the kids use and for daily stuff I dont feel any slow down that I would track back to the SSD, rather the C2D CPU. You will however be able to measure the difference with Tools when you move large files, videos and larger packed containers. Any other operations I`d say it's hard to say if it runs on S-II or S-III connector, honestly.
