As the title suggests, I'm wondering if there is a way to have a trigger fire off only for humans flying planes, regardless of their name or ID. Is there such a thing? I'm trying to have certain planes/vehicles activate if humans enter an area, not AI planes. I basically suck at the ME so I may have missed something obvious. Any ideas or suggestions or links to where I can read up on it? Thanks in advance!

I don't know if you can create a script for that.

Otherwise a tedious way would be to set the condition for each player aircraft by using pilot name of the player unit, against the "Unit inside zone" condition, then "or", then next pilot etc., for each appropriate trigger zone.

Thanks for the reply. Well, being the total dunce that I am, scripting is out of the question for me, it's enough that I can even use what others have made! ;)

Ah, I forgot that there is an "or" aspect to the trigger system... I think I understand what you're trying to convey to me (it's not you, it's me that lacks in the knowledge...) and will try giving it a shot tonight after work. Thanks again!

Just tried it but it doesn't seem to work for me. I clicked on the "or" button in my trigger, added the same info in for each of the other client planes and then flew one of them. Neither triggers fired off that I had set up. :( Not sure what I'm doing wrong as it seems pretty straight forward.

First, select the groups you would like to appear when humans enter the zone. Check the "late activation" box in the menu on the right side of the editor, and name the group something recognizable (we'll call them Enemy spawn for now)

Select any potential human pilots.

In the PILOT NAME field, type Human01, Human02, Human03 etc.

Click the "create trigger zone" button on the left sidebar.

Click on the map where you would like the trigger zone to be located.

Type the desired radius of the trigger zone in the menu that appears on the right, and name it something recognizable (like spawn point). Radius is expressed in meters, this cannot be changed.

You should now see a white cirlce on the map, with the size you typed in, that says "spawn point" on it.

Next, open the "triggers" menu in the ME (left sidebar)

There are 3 columns- TYPE, CONDITIONS, and TRIGGERED ACTIONS.

Click "New" under TYPE

Type "Spawn trigger" in the name field. Leave type as 1 ONCE. Leave event as NO EVENT.

TYPE column should look like:

1 ONCE (Spawn trigger, NO EVENT)

Click "NEW" in the CONDITIONS column.

Select UNIT INSIDE ZONE from the drop down menu that appears at the bottom of the column.

In the UNIT field, select the first aircraft that could potentially be a human pilot.

In the ZONE field, select "spawn point.

Click CLONE at the top of the column.

Select HUMAN 02 from the drop down menu.

Click OR

Use arrows at the top of the column to move OR to the correct position.

CONDITIONS column should now look like:

UNIT INSIDE ZONE (Human01, spawn point)

OR

UNIT INSIDE ZONE (Human02, spawn point)

Click "NEW" in the "TRIGGERED ACTIONS" column

Select GROUP ACTIVATE from the drop down menu at the bottom of the column.

Select your AI group you would like to start from the drop down menu.

TRIGGERED ACTIONS column should look like:

GROUP ACTIVATE (Enemy spawn)

All together:

TYPE

1 ONCE (Spawn trigger, NO EVENT)

CONDITIONS

UNIT INSIDE ZONE (Human01, spawn point)

OR

UNIT INSIDE ZONE (Human02, spawn point)

TRIGGERED ACTIONS:

GROUP ACTIVATE (Enemy spawn)

First,...

feefifofum, thank you for the very detailed post on how to properly do it! I was screwing up because I never cloned anything, instead I just clicked on the "or" button, a new condition box would pop up and I would input the info there and assumed that the "or" was implied as it never showed up on screen. Now I got it and it works perfectly! Thanks again mate!!

Just a thought on from that, you can have client wing men in groups now, so you might also want to use "part of group inside zone" condition, and have all your clients in groups. I think it's easier to apply waypoints and weapons to a group, as you can set up your group lead (for weapons/paint etc.), and simply add more craft to the flight once you're happy.
