Also, I don't understand that АЗ-Д-ОБН-АЗ-V switch. If I'm not mistaken the СЕИ-31 is the complete information display system (HUD and HDD mostly) and I'm wondering why there are two positions (azimuth-distance, azimuth speed) whereas we have all the information displayed simultaneously.Well, I'm lost ^^

I presume the options are there so you can choose to see if the radar search contacts are presented/ordered by range or velocity. Unless I misunderstood you, we don't get all three (velocity) except for the locked targets. IIRC, US radars also have such velocity search options.

But, is OBN a third switch position then or a description of the switch functionality? I presume it's an abbreviation and can't guess what it stands for (maybe oбследование or обозрение? I don't speak Russian).

For "ОБН", I think you're right it's probably used as a label. I'd go for "обнаружения" (detection/displaying).

And I think I was confusing the displayed info with the datalink shared information on the HDD.

Thanks for the correction. I should go test the different detection modes.
