For a couple of weeks now I've noticed that the forum appears to automatically embed all links that end in .pdf via some kind of inline PDF viewer. When that happens, the original link that is contained in the post is not even shown.

Example with the A-10C flight manual download from ED:

http://srv0.files.eagle.ru/dcs/manuals/DCS-A-10C_Flight_Manual_EN.pdf

The same happens with videos from Vimeo:

https://vimeo.com/147806338

I'd like to point out that the Miscellaneous option "Automatically embed media (requires automatic parsing of links in text to be on)." has no effect on the outcome in my previous tests (Edit #3: It has an effect on .PDF, but not on Vimeo videos).

Is there any way for us to disable this very annoying feature?

Of course if you ask me, we should just get rid of it altogether and maybe offer new "Embed media" buttons instead.

Edit: Naturally the example PDF-link above does not get embedded for me when I view this post, so that type of automatic embedding seems to be covered by the corresponding option. The Vimeo one still does, though.

Edit #2: Also, the option "Automatically embed media" is re-set to "On" when editing a post and then "Go advanced" is selected. Not sure if this happens every time, but it just did with this very post. :smartass:

Edit #4: And it was set to On again with Edit #3...
