AFAIK it is only available on the 2000D

DCS M2000C has it also. The switch is visible in the cockpit but it does not function.

All French M-2000 have the same ECM control panel, M-2000C/ D/ N/ -5F.

Yet C & -5F have Sabre jammer while D & N have Cameleon jammer.

It's the same for launch detector, it's optional.

DDM/ D2M is only known on D and N.

This switch is a provision...in case for !

What is the reasoning behind this decision to not have it installed on the C?

In general, MWR seem to be a rather neglected defensive feature of almost all aircraft I got to know through DCS - why is that so? "Yes, we install an additional component to have a few more chaff and a hand full of flares - but no, we don't need a warning if actually someone fires a missile at us ... "!?

The DDM, as far as I know is IR/ UV detector.

It detects missile's engine exhaust plume. So when engine burns out, it can't detect missile anymore.

My assessment is that it's estimated useful against close shot, like MANPAD or Fox 2.

The M-2000C being BVR interceptor it was not estimated indispensable given the limited funding. It's always a compromise.

Please note that even if provision were made for it quite early, this detector is an upgrade.

They probably didn't purchase enough devices to equip the whole M-2000 fleet.

Is the Mirage going to implement the D2M IR detector? Thanks!

Yes. If it was available on the C. So far the information we have says yes, but also said that it was an optional equipment.

But, right now my priority is enabling the Éclair dispenser pod. It provides 16 more flares and 18 more chaff but using it means that you lose the para brake, since it is installed in the parachute housing.

Do not mistake it with the Éclair-M, which I'm told came out when the C was already exchanged for the -5.

I would be interested in article, because I know it only on Mirage 2000D over bosnia. Thanks
