Hi

Is there an official DCS released Aircraft Carrier Battle Group for DCS World in the original map?

Curious because the F-14 is planned for Beta release soon (I hope), and who doesn't want to repeat 'Top Gun' missions :)

Thanks

No official group, but you can make one yourself. Pick a carrier of your choosing and then add a few destroyer/cruiser vessels to it's group. You can then set the wind from one direction, have the carrier group's waypoint make it steam into the wind and voila - there you are. If you're really into this, add a rescue chopper travelling the same course/speed as the carrier group...and maybe a few Navy aircraft that spawn at certain times, take off and perform CAP ;)

It's all in there, but you gotta make it happen first. Trust me, it's not a nightmare. You'll be done in less than 10 minutes.

I am no rookie when it comes to editing having done a commercial addon as well as missions for ARMA III. I have not however looked at the editor for DCS.

Know of any good intro guides?

No guides on my part. I just began by adding stuff when I was new to this (began with the Huey). You know, to try things out like "what if I got AAA all around my landing zone" and so on. What struck me early was how easy the mission editor is. I mean for a guy like me that has zero patience and just refuses to learn scripting...well the editor is great! Do it my way, screw the guides - take a leap of faith! ;)
