gazmonalpha Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Hi, Nice to be here, just got back in to DCS and really enjoying the ride I have a query regarding the f15c bear trap campaign which i am giving a go, i can take off fine ,adjust my flaps and gear up etc, is it normal for the whole plane to vibrate when i climb?? am i doing something wrong like climbing to fast/steep, plane does not seem very smooth in turning as well, seems to be buffeted a lot is this supposed to be just wind and conditions would appreciate any basic f15c flying tips gazmon System Specs, Core i7 950 OC 4.2Ghz, 1.5TB Hdd, MSI GTX 980 Ti, 24GB Ram, WIN 10 64 Bit, 1000w PSU ,Trackir5, Thrustmaster Warthog:)
ShadowFrost Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I would assume you would have been at high AOA in your climb and the "vibration" may in fact be buffeting caused by being so close to your stall speed for the weight of you aircraft. If my memory serves me well you are running a full combat load on the first mission. Because of this the aircraft is much heavier and therefore your stall speed is higher and you loose energy in a climb much faster than a clean f-15. If you have a track file to show I can watch it and if you want on Friday or over the weekend I can help teach you the basics of fighting and flying in the f-15.
gazmonalpha Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 Hi Thanks for you reply, how do I make a track file Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk System Specs, Core i7 950 OC 4.2Ghz, 1.5TB Hdd, MSI GTX 980 Ti, 24GB Ram, WIN 10 64 Bit, 1000w PSU ,Trackir5, Thrustmaster Warthog:)
Ironhand Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 When you press ESC and exit the mission, the screen you drop to gives you the option to: Save Track. Click the button and proceed from there. Sweep Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/645693/ Check the linked document. Specifically time to climb, read the fine print. :D Basically, If you're on full burner for the climb-out hold 350 knots on the HUD until you get to mach 0.95 and hold that instead. For military thrust (max thrust without afterburner), hold 350 until mach 0.9 then use that to your climb altitude. EDIT: By the way, check the drag index thing listed for each weapon and store that you put on your jet, its near the top of the manual linked above Feel free to correct me, I'm having problems reading the manual on my main screen right now...I need new glasses, lol. gazmonalpha Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 I knew this was the right place to be , thanks all will see how I go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk System Specs, Core i7 950 OC 4.2Ghz, 1.5TB Hdd, MSI GTX 980 Ti, 24GB Ram, WIN 10 64 Bit, 1000w PSU ,Trackir5, Thrustmaster Warthog:)
ShadowFrost Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Sorry that I couldn't be more specific earlier and give directions... Multitasking at it's finest. If the 350kt then climb attitude doesn't work post a track file for us to see if is your fault or something with the campaign. I may try to recreate later to see if it is an issue with the campaign.
gazmonalpha Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 F-15C flight vibration issue help Sorry for being a noob but where do I finc my track files and do u want me to just add the file on this thread?? Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk System Specs, Core i7 950 OC 4.2Ghz, 1.5TB Hdd, MSI GTX 980 Ti, 24GB Ram, WIN 10 64 Bit, 1000w PSU ,Trackir5, Thrustmaster Warthog:)
ShadowFrost Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 On the main menu their should be a "replay" option. (Top half I think, sorry doing this from memory) But something else in your spare time that you should look into is "Tacview" its a very helpful program to analyze what happened. Back to the replay folder, it should point to a path of where the .trk files are stored and will list the tracks by date/time of the mission's end.
