TheFurNinja Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 (edited) To boot, the new netcode means that the warping (causing multiple broken locks and trashed missiles) has ceased almost entirely. This helps the planes that use SARH are going to get a much needed boost of Pk. Edited June 29, 2016 by TheFurNinja In-Game Handle: Lutrafisk She/Her
Lucas Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 (edited) Well after installing 1.5.4, I can say that I don't see the slightest difference in R-27E® Behavior. Still a the same paperweight as it has been for a while now.. Edited June 29, 2016 by Lucas
Svend_Dellepude Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Well after installing 1.5.4, I can say that I don't see the slightest difference in R-27E® Behavior. Still a the same paperweight as it has been for a while now.. Because the E series is exactly that, a paperweight. Big one though! :) Missiles still has some drag issues when they maneuver and that is affecting the russian missiles more because they are bigger. But shoot a few missiles against AI and then watch the track in tacview and you will see a difference in how SARH handles chaff and ground now, compared to 1.5.3. JunMcKill Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 (edited) Good to know. Thanks for letting us know. SARH works much better now. :) They will still catch chaff but not even close to what they did before. I've been looking at tacview while testing a bit and the behaviour is much improved. SARH can now wander from chaff to chaff, and even reaquire the target if it becomes visible again to the seeker. Also they seems to maintain their energy better and not make erratic moves like before. ARH seem to behave as stupid as always but I think they didn't get any love. Yes is working better, the only problems I found is the speed and range of the ER, are below the published specs, in DCS the max speed for the ER launched at 10,000 meters height and a speed of 900 km/h was mach 4.2 (4,527.88 TAS at this height), while the ER can reach mach 4.5 (4,851.30 TAS), but is not a big difference. The range for a target head-on is 65.5 km, in DCS is 60, not a big difference either. Edited June 30, 2016 by JunMcKill

Maybe it can also be the way I employ them? Is there anything else necessary that needs doing after locking up a target to guarantee good guidance on the missile? Or maybe just my expectations being placed way too high for this fix.:(
Svend_Dellepude Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Make sure they maneuver as little as possible to get to their target. Make sure you give them proper lead if possible and shoot them within parameters. Other than that, I don't know. 1.5.4 fixed a bug that would allow SARH to see chaff outside the radar cone of the launching platform, and that seems to have been fixed. At least they are useable and more predictable now. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win10 64, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, i5 6600K, Geforce 980 GTX Ti, 32 GB Ram, Samsung EVO SSD.
