Fab Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I been doing some arobatic, and found this.... Clean plane, go from 350 kts, to vertical, set power to ideal, hold plane in 90 degree climb, til 0 kts, I´m holding it on rudders. As I start to descend backwards, the engine flameout... Is this normal behaveure for the Mirage or a bug ?:helpsmilie: Intel Core i7-6700K Cpu 4.00 GHz OC 4.8 GHz Water Cooled|32 GB DDR4 ram OC| Nvidia RTX 2080Ti| TrustMaster Warthog|Saitek Battle Pro Pedals | Logitec G13| Oculus Rift S :joystick: I´m in for a ride, a VR ride:pilotfly: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBX_-Hml7_7s1dggit_vGpA?view_as=public

So i would guess it is simulated like it should work. unknown Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 (edited) The mirage 2000 can do it, we have movies that prove it... Can you post a link please? Would like to see a Mirage do this. Edit: Lol, searching on youtube just shows boring airshows with flybys but searching on google brings up an thread on this forum with a link to youtube showing a Mirage doing a tailslide. Link to thread and video: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33522 Edited January 15, 2016 by unknown Modules: KA-50, A-10C, FC3, UH-1H, MI-8MTV2, CA, MIG-21bis, FW-190D9, Bf-109K4, F-86F, MIG-15bis, M-2000C, SA342 Gazelle, AJS-37 Viggen, F/A-18C, F-14, C-101, FW-190A8, F-16C, F-5E, JF-17, SC, Mi-24P Hind, AH-64D Apache, Mirage F1, F-4E Phantom II System: Win 11 Pro 64bit, Ryzen 3800X, 32gb RAM DDR4-3200, PowerColor Radeon RX 6900XT Red Devil ,1 x Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB NVMe, 2 x Samsung SSD 2TB + 1TB SATA, MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals - VIRPIL T-50CM and VIRPIL MongoosT-50 Throttle - HP Reverg G2, using only the latest Open Beta, DCS settings
OldE24 Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 the airflow past the intake/up the exhaust puts the engine at extreme risk of flameout/compressor stall. 8700k@4.7 32GB ram, 1080TI hybrid SC2
ttaylor0024 Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Then its a bug... Except you have no clue what power setting he's at, which is most likely not idle. At a higher power setting, 85-95% for example, the aircraft will still do this if the T/W is below 1.0, and the engine will still be sucking air at a much higher rate than idle. This also doesn't take into account that you don't know what airspeed he was really at. Airshows play on viewing angles to make normal operations look dangerous. 1

This also doesn't take into account that you don't know what airspeed he was really at. Airshows play on viewing angles to make normal operations look dangerous. That is a very good point. I did a couple of tests and the engine is flaming out until you set the throttle to a little bit over 90%. Every throttle position over that and the aircraft will recover from that maneuver on its own with a running engine. According to your mentioned point that we don't know at wich power setting he is this could be a proper simulation and not a bug.
