Why is it sometimes I get aspect and sometimes I don't when I lock a target in STT mode?

Maybe I should of said when I have a target that is locked up with an AIM-7 or AIM-120C on the VSD that is not head on. I have a 60 degree azimuth scanning zone and the target is literally 20 to 60 NM out and probably at a 18+ degree right angle aspect on the VSD. But it doesn't say anything.

If I read this guy correctly, he's not having any issues getting locks on people, instead he is not being fed information about the aspect of his target. normally on the bottom right of the HUD you will see a H,T,L or R symbol indicitating Head, tail left or right aspect.

my first hunch is that you do not have a pure lock but are instead tracking a jamming source. does it say HOJ anywhere on your HUD or radar display?

Here is what I'm seeing, I don't understand why it disappears. For a second it might be there then it just goes away.

I'm now trying to find out what PRF is. So I can't answer that.

You have an 'H' so he's head on. Aspect is about 180.
