SSD / 256 or 500 GB for DCS ?

I want to get an SSD only for DCS ( 1.5 and 2.0 )

Now, both have about 80 GB in total ( with mods, as well )

Do you think, i will be ok with an SSD 256 GB, for the next 2 years ?

I mean, there are updates, mods, etc ....

Should i better go for 500 GB, for about 70 euro more ?

I went with what I could afford at the time. Starting with a 60Gb M4 then a 120Gb and finally at Christmas I recieved a 240 Gb. Now the M4 is obsolete and will go into another machine Windows is on the 120 now and both versions of DCSW plus assorted games on the 240

Big enough by far ATM

Biggest mistake for me is when you use JGSME you need space to initialise mods as they take up twice as much space when running:huh::)

Both my instals with all my mods activated and most modules takes 121 GB

Plenty headroom for me atm:thumbup:

For the extra 70 euros buy 2 256's and have a OS SSD and a games SSD I have 4 HDD installed too so have to use a PCI adapter which gives me better read write than directly through my aging MOBO

Ok, i ordered the SSD 512 GB Samsung Evo

For the OS, i already have an 60 GB SSD Intel, it's more than enough for me.

Now the question is : do i have to install DCS again, or i could just copy it from HDD to SSD ?

evo is half the warranty compared to pro....and i had failing Samsung ssd's before, 830 and 840.

 

only 850pro or better due to that

I always copy, but the entry in all programs will disappear so any repairs and forced updates will need to be done with command prompt
