That is the way the game was made, infact if i am correct, that is the way the do it in real life, they go really slow. I could be wrong, but that is the way mine is, and it is just moddeled that way.The AI arent stupid, they just do what they were programmed to do.

The friendly AI are definitely stupid, but I had no idea how stupid they were until I saw this vid. When under air attack, while still on the ground, the last thing you want to do is stop...but, driving straight through a fireball is even less desirable. Thanks for the vid, yufighter! :D

The AI should be programmed for such basic decisions, but they aren't...just as they insist on pressing an a2g attack, flying down the throat of the enemy, and actually overflying the target. The result is predictable. A smoldering hole in the sky. So, you've got to treat your friendly AI as if they're all nuggets and keep them on a short leash. Unfortunately, the situation never improves as you progress through campaigns. :disgust:

Absolutely!! I'm flying Operation Liberty right now, and those missions cannot be accomplished without effective management of your wingmen. It takes a bit of the burden off when I assign us an attack altitude of 14,000'. On a side note, I took off on a mission last night and my RHAW immediately showed Su-27s ahead of me. Then another contact on the RHAW, this one behind my flight. I zoomed in to read the number, and saw 14...then an evil grin crossed my face as I knew the Flankers weren't going to live much longer.
