MiG-21R future add-on?

Are there a plan to incorporate the Type D or Type R recce pods to this module?

 

I'm enjoying it and can always pretend and make that camera click sound on my own, but would be a neat addition.

unlikely. the R was based of the MiG21PFM and not on the bis. Different engine, actually shorter. it's not gonna happen I think.

So then, is the bis even wired to carry the pod(s) at all, or again strictly an R-model only?

the Finnish modified some fishbeds like the F13 for recon roles. I've heard they also modified one or more bis into a recon version they called the MiG21bis/t. I'm not to knowledgable about it, but I found what someone claims is an image of serial number MG114 wich is supposedly a bis converted for recon.

 

 

they overhauled the cockpit too, though, so it's not just a case of hanging that pod there. I also read it loses its gun for the pod.

 

 

all radar controls are gone but they could have been dismounted before they put it on display. some things have swapped place. not sure why the HSI and ADI are gone. there appears to be a more western styled ADI on the bottom left. so even this is not going to be an easy implementation if LNS ever decides to do it.
