Unfortunately I don't think it is possible, no.

In my experience. Su-27 will realease all bombs with a single pickle, even when they are of different types.

Example: 2 FAB-500 + 2 RBK-250 all released with my first press of pickle.

Tested serveral times.

Should be able to adjust ripple interval thou, the weapons panel has the "SERIA" switch. In Su-25 in is paired with a ripple quantity selector too, dunno how it should work IRL, but technically it is posibble to create this capability in the game, as su-25 (and also A-10) already had it since early LockOn.

Something changed in a recent patch. The Su-27 now releases pairs of bombs (FAB or RBK) by default.

This.

I just played the SU-33 Heavy Sky mission where you have to bomb a helipad. The SU-33, just like the SU-27, releases the bombs in pairs by default, though I've never tried to change the salvo mode or ripple interval in those aircraft. I know it works in the SU-25T.

Anyways, so I dropped two FAB-250s on the helipad and hit it, then I came around for another pass and dropped a pair of FAB-500s on it, and still didn't kill the CH-47 on the helipad. The bombs are nerfed if you ask me...

Unfortunately DCS doesn't model fragmentation, only blast damage as 1/r^3. So, frag that would in reality severely damage a chopper well outside of the blast radius isn't there. Some weapons have much higher than reality blast damage outputs to compensate, but yes, we have to be very accurate with bombs.

Given the target in the mission you just flew I'd be tempted to take RBK cluster bombs or maybe heavy calibre rockets instead of FAB bombs.

Wow, only 1/r^3? That is ridiculous. I released the 2x FAB-500 dead in the center of the helipad in a stable dive and waited half a second before peeling out to make sure I didn't upset the release. Then, looking over my shoulder on the climbout, I saw just a huge cloud of dust covering the helipad, so I was sure that I killed it that time around.

I went with the default loadout playing the mission for the first time. I had 4x S-25 rockets, but I used up all four FABs on the chopper, then went out to sea and used one of the S-25s on the ship out at sea and sank it after the first shot. Then I RTB with 3x S-25 remaining, and after I landed on the carrier and didn't get a "mission accomplished" message, I realized that I didn't get a "return to base" message after dropping the bombs on the chopper earlier  I'll replay the mission later and see if cluster bombs work better.

S-25 should do it in one pass. Thise are my favorite for smoking aircraft on the ground. You could spend all day plinking a Hip with S-8KOM's but one S-25 will obliterate it.

Bombs probably would as well if they actually hit it, but that's the challenge...

Well, it took 60 hits from PTAB-10-5, 44 hits from my wingman's 30mm cannon, 2 hits from FAB-250, and one S-25 to kill the CH-47...

Wow, that was one tough chopper! It shouldn't take anything like that level of ordnance to destroy, on the ground or in the air. I wonder if the chopper being on a FARP has something to do with the amount of 'health' it has.

Given any options the way I'd do it would be a Kh-29T from an Su-25T. A ~600Kg warhead should obliterate any aircraft within its blast radius...

Unfortunately, you cannot switch to a SU-25T while in the SU-33 campaign.

All aircraft are overly difficult to destroy on the ground. Think about how often when you shoot them down you don't get credit for the kill until they impact the ground. You may destroy a wing or a rotor or whatever, but most often total destruction occurs upon impact. There are of course the occasional fireballs, but overall.

Good point. I recently did a great mission called something like "long range strike escort" or similar which called for a bit of A-A action then bombing 3 x IL-76's on the ramp at Batumi. 2 x FAB-500s blew the wings off an IL-76 but didn't do much more than that :(
