I'm just starting to experiment and learn the ME in DCS and have what is probably a basic question. Is it possible to select or highlight multiple units at one time so they could be moved as one? I have tried the windows standard of Shift+click but that doesn't work. I know that the ctlr+c and ctlr+v process work. I just would like to do that with more than one unit at a time.

I tried searching the forum for guidance but do you have any idea of the number of threads with the terms select, click, multiple or combinations thereof:mega:cry:

Click on the first. Then hold down both left-SHIFT and left-ALT. Click on the next unit twice slowly. Etc. That allows you to select multiples. You can't simply slide them across the map, though. You'll have to use CTRL-C or CTRL-X depending on whether you want to copy or cut.

the first unit of the group always moves the group, so you can simply move that one if you want to move the whole group, though of course that introduces other issues.

the real horror of the whole process is when you have to start checking if things are inside buildings considering the map isn't accurate to the meter in terms of building placement vs. the 3d world

i would literally give 50$ for the ability to open a window to the 3d world without placing a test plane in the map above it then saving then loading the game then looking at the thing for 2 seconds then quitting then going back to ME then moving it 2 feet then rechecking

repeat for every group you are placing in a city a thousand times

thanks for the assistance. I found also that if after the first unit is selected, I can hold down the shift and do a quick double click to select multiple units.

For whatever reason, that never seemed to work for me--only the more convoluted version I passed on to you.

Seriously, Drag a box to select is a basic feature in virtually any editor.  It's 2024, it seems like this functionality would be possible.  I am tired of spending hours trying to carefully select every item just to accidentally misclick and either deselect all items or move something and have to start all over any time I am trying to make a base or checkpoint into a template I could replicate on the map or spawn in. Even ARMA can do this in the 2d or 3d editor.
