eurofor Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I don't know if this is a question of realism or not but I think NVG's would be a useful addition to the L-39. Perhaps it should even be a generic thing available in all aircraft? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vitormouraa Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Does it have in real life? if the answer is no, so no, you won't have NVG, at least by ED. But I'm pretty sure you can use mods. Cheers SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com

Cheers No it is not realistic to have NVG in L-39 but on the other hand you can use NVG in P-51 and it is developed by ED :megalol: [sIGPIC]http://dcs-uvp.cz/images/userbars/uvp_bars_mic.gif[/sIGPIC]
JG4_Helofly Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Since it would probably be very easy to implement, why not? Even if it's not realistic, you won't notice its there if you don't use it.
Hook47 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 How is realism the discussion here? NVGs have nothing to do with the aircraft, and everything to do with what the pilot chooses to strap to his head. Aviation NVG sets could be used in any aircraft really.
King_Hrothgar Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 A few years ago when I rented a 1970's Cessna 172, I was told I had to leave my smartphone in the car and dress in typical 1970's clothing before flying, because realism.:P 3
Hook47 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 LOL! Exactly, Hrothgar! Really though this isn't a question of realism and aircraft equipment. They should be available to all pilots. The only thing which really matters on the plane's end is how NVG friendly the cockpit lighting and displays are, and for an aircraft like the L-39ZA that isn't a big issue.
NeilWillis Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 What about the availability to members of a particular air force? If Russian Czech and other air forces don't issue NVGs, then flying as a pilot of that specific air force should mean that NVGs simply aren't available. Speaking personally, I don't usually carry a set around in my pocket. As such, how could I reach for them unless I was given a set when I kitted up before walking to the flight line? I guess really, it ought to be something that can be restricted in multi player environments, but as individuals, having the choice wouldn't be a bad thing.
Pikey Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 There is a mix of real and sim things in this. Real: Cockpit must be NVG friendly/approved, Aircraft must be asked to fly at night, airforce needs to not sack you or have another rule in place. Sim: Cockpit must be NVG friendly. Not issueing NVG to pilots is a no factor, i'm off to amazon to order NVG in that case. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
