It worked fine before update 1.5.3. I have 33 AA victories with that plane up until that last update. Now landing lights blink rapidly whenever on and the Nav and anti-collision lights have dark halos when illuminated. I'm certain I didn't just suddenly and inexplicably get stupid and forget which buttons to push, I'm old ,but not that old, besides I use the mouse to click the cockpit buttons except nose wheel steering engage

I think you have a faulty upgrade. Please reinstall the aircraft and test again.

Does that apply just to the first problem(hud) or aswell to the flashing landing lights and the other lights with the dark halo?

The flashing landing lights is a known bug. It has been fixed internally and is waiting for the update to be released by ED.

I was talking about the dark halos, because I have not experienced that in any version 1.5.3 or 2.0.1. Not even in the developer's version.

As for the HUD. I am at a loss at your problem. I don't know what is that you mean missing. Perhaps, and this happened to me two days ago, you clicked the HUD to the TEST position and you are seeing an incomplete HUD version. It looks like the main one, but it is slightly off. I'll fix that ASAP.

Having said that, allow me to explain the HUD changes:

The missile circles have been removed. They no longer appear when you select a missile, either Magic or S530D.

An Interception Director has been added. This is a smaller circle that appears on the HUD when you have:

* Enabled the POL mode in the PCA

* The Master Arm switch is On and the system is in AA mode.

To aim the Magics, you have to use the gun cross on top of the HUD. That is the boresight.

To aim the Super 530Ds all you have to do is select a radar contact, and lock it in STT mode. The HUD will advise when you are in missile range.

The guns work a little different.

* No radar lock, same functionality as before

* Radar lock, the Interception Director appears and will remain visible until you are actually in gun range (1200 meters or less).

I hope this helps you.

If that is so, then the bug should have been solved since we changed the way the lights work. They will be available on the next update. In the case of 2.0.1 that is today.

I did . several times . No joy. Any other thoughts? Reluctant to uninstall and then reinstall DCS World , altogether and I don't want to loose Medals( How many are there? I have 8 ); Rank is O-4, and I did most of it with the Mirage, so as you can imagine I REALLY LIKE THIS MODULE,BRO'

One other thing....well two RWR screen used to be tiny circle and now it's a cross, and for some reason , there was never any issue with the landing lights in 2.0, although , the HUD issue appeared there first, as soon as I got it; the HUD was not present in 1.5.2. Not sure if useful, but you never know.:helpsmilie:

Both issues are present

Karl,

I'm sorry, it's a bit difficult to understand what problem remains and what is solved...

I'll stay on the safe side by writing only the following (sure informations):

1/ The RWR had the number of threats detected in the center ("little circle" = 0 in fact); that was a placeholder/debug thing. Now the RWR displays a cross, like the real thing do. This is not a bug, this is just Razbam making the module better.

2/ Your data (medals...) are in C:\Users\<you>\Saved Games\DCS; reinstalling DCS will not touch those files, only those in the application install folder.

And before reinstalling (it's a bit long), you may way to do a much simpler "repair". No risk trying that, as long as you haven't voluntarily tampered your DCS installation.

I see . I was unaware of this change. I wondered why the guncross was unchanged, and nothing else. A heads up would have been helpful. This is the first time someone actually said the missile circle had been removed. Okay. Thanx loads!!!

It does actually. Seems less intuitive than before, but does work. Missiles seem somehow less effective. In many engagements, I have expended all pylon stores. The Super 530s are particularly vexing, much more so than Magic IIs, which at least give an audible tone and somewhat more effective. Anyway I digress. Thank you for helping me sort out the 'HUD issue', which turned out to be non issue.
