Dear Eagle Dynamics,

First of all, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place. I tried finding a Bug Tracker but couldn't find it anywhere.

I recently bought the L-39 on Steam and was setting it up with my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS Joystick & Throttle.

When I tried binding the "Engine Start Button" it opens the Emergency Switch Cover. I bound the key on my Throttle to the Left ENG OPER IGN switch (momentary left upward switch, JOY_BTN31).

When pressing Home (the default keyboard binding) it however works fine. And when binding the switch to the Emergency Fuel Switch Cover, it opens and closes the correct Switch Cover.

Also, when I've bound the "Turbo Switch Cover OPEN/CLOSE" to my Right ENG OPER MOTOR switch (toggle right downward switch, JOY_BTN19), it doesn't do anything. The momentary switch works for the 'Turbo Start Button' when via the mouse opening the cover.

Version: 1.5.3 via Steam.

P.s. Why doesn't the throttle's middle flap indentation work? I know I can program them via Thrustmaster TARGET's software but knowing these work in other ED's modules without a hassle, why not now?

Kinds Regards,

ArtOfStuttering.

The problem with the flaps is that the middle flap position on the throttle is not a discrete button. The upper and lower positions are, but the middle one is not. In order for the middle position to register you have to bind it to some function for which the upper and lower flap positions are toggles that will turn back off when you return the flaps to the center position.

In my experience I've found that almost none of the DCS modules natively support this function, and instead usually require customizing the controls in the LUA files in order to create a function that toggles on and off to the center position.

Fixing this for most airplanes is a simple LUA change for the Input default.lua files.

I'm not sure why more companies don't support this by default.

RAZBAM has started including these binds in their default controls (CptSmiley and Teeter have been very responsive) for the M-2000C, where the functions are "FUNC A else FUNC B" which maps well to multi-position or momentary switches on the Warthog throttle.

Thank you everyone for the responses, but this doesn't fix the bug I posted. On the flaps, I was already aware there's a work around however since this is made by Eagle Dynamics, this isn't a "third party dev".

I'd appreciate a dev's assurance it'll be fixed, especially since they changed the topic and removed "[bug]" in the topic. It was there to get the Dev's attention.

Mods, please, at least reply you've read it and forwarded it. Small communications such as those are important to your users and doesn't take long! It only increases the appreciation we have. Changing topics and not responding does the exact opposite usually.

Again, thanks everyone for the flaps suggestions but I do not accept messing around the lua myself as the solution.

Kind Regards,

ArtOfStuttering
