TracerFacer Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 (edited) I have an airfield where I've taken away all of the guided bombs.. I've linked that to a warehouse that is unlimited.. how come I can't load guided bombs at the airfield? The idea being that at the beginning of the mission guided bombs are available. If the warehouse is destroyed, no more guided weapons.. Seems simple enough, but I can't seem to get this to work.. Edited March 7, 2016 by TracerFacer spelling derp
TracerFacer Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 ahh..seems to be a distance thing.. It's got to be right on the airfield for this to work.. Put it to far away, and it breaks.. What are the rules surrounding the warehouse distances? I don't want them on the base. I want them somewhere else completely and I seem to be hitting some game mechanic...
71st_AH Rob Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Don't think it's a distance thing, exactly. How long it takes for supplies to travel from the warehouse to the airbase is dependent on how long the route is and what speed you set.
TracerFacer Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 (edited) Thanks for the reply.. I have 4 warehouses.. from 20-45 miles from the airfield. I've set the speed (didn't notice that before, thx ) to max.. 541... and the time to 5 mins.. how long should I have to wait after starting the mission .. so far after 30 mins.. I can't load the weapons that are in the warehouses.. Edited March 7, 2016 by TracerFacer
Shahdoh Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Try this, have the airport have a limited supply, say only like 10 or so. That is what the airfield has stocked, when it drops below that, supplies come from the warehouse to replenish the 10 (or whatever). If warehouse is destroyed, the airport can no longer be replenished, and with a small supply there, will soon be out. Also make sure the speed and amount of replenishment per cycle is set appropriately. Just a guess really, but I think worth a shot.
TracerFacer Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 So.. about 2 miles is as far as I can get away from the base. Past that.. I start getting messages about resources being sent / delivered - but I still can't rearm the plane.. From what I've been reading, the whole resource manager thing isn't even implemented. So not sure the speed thing even works. does it? Beyond 2-3 miles.. it doesn't matter what any of the settings are set at.. it don't work.
TracerFacer Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 think that might have done the trick shadoh!
Shahdoh Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Do note, anytime there is a DCS update and there are changes to the types of weapons used. This will generally break missions that use a limited supply system. The mission then has to be updated by 1 of a couple ways. 1. Delete the warehouse file from within the mission (*.miz file is really just a zipped file, just set your compression utility to open .miz files). When you open up the mission in the editor, DCS will rebuild the warehouse file from scratch with default settings. You will need to go back in and reapply any changes. 2. On any airport with a limited supply set, change it back to unlimited. Once all are set to unlimited, save the mission. This should reset the warehouse file as well. Then go back in and reapply your changes. if this option does not work, use option 1. /salute 1
TracerFacer Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 With a bit of tweaking on the initial amounts, I have it working the way I want. Thanks for the help and the additional info.
