This has probably been asked before, but is ED still striving to fully implement two seater functionality? Hawk, C101, L39, F14, etc...

If so, what is the status on this?

Especially for trainers I'm eager to see something more than mere ride along :)

The L-39 is the "test bed" for two seat functionality, as such, it's pretty far along. There are still some issues with syncing aircraft states between players in the same aircraft but most of it is working and players can swop control.

Once ED's two seat tech has matured I'm sure it'll be incorporated in the SDK/tools for third party dev's.

The C-101 and F-14 dev's plan to include two seat functionality, so have modelled the 2nd seat position in readiness.

The same it true for the Mi-8 and UH-1H helicopter co-pilot/gunners.

The Veao Hawk was not planned to include two seat functionality (it's only flyable from the front seat) and initially it was said to be unlikely due to the code rework needed, however lately it's become a maybe, once the SDK is updated and they can better assess the additional work required but have made no promises.

IMHO the Hawk shouldn't be included in a "two seat" list until it's 2nd seat is modelled/flyable.

while I haven't tried it, I've seen people claim that the flight controls in the 2nd "instructor" seat of the L-39C are already functional.

Try it out on MP :)
