How can I disconnect my controllers without losing settings for DCS? I have just updated from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and the program USB Deview doesn't work for my Windows 10. That was the program I used to use to disable my controllers, but I can'y get it working with this version of Windows

I have a powered USB Hub that I connect all my DCS controllers to, but I fear if I just unplug this hub, I will loss all my DCS module settings. I want to be able to play my other games with my my other controllers though, but I somehow have to disable the DCS controllers to play games like Fifa ect. How can I do this without losing my DCS settings? Thanks!

According to the home page USBDeview should work in Windows 10 too.

Are you using the latest version?

I am, yes. I can install USBDeview, but when I try to disconnect the controllers the lights just remain on. My ThrustMaster MFCDs lights and ThrustMatser Warthog Hotas lights remain on, so it doesn't disconnect them. What would happen if I just pulled out the USB on the powered Hub while the computer is on and just plugged it back in before shutting down the Pc? Would I lose all my DCS settings doing it that way?

I really need help with this because I can't play my other games, I would have to decide if it's DCS that has to go or my other games and I don't want to do that.

I think you can just pull the USB out and plug it back when you need it.

I have my Warthog HOTAS connected to my monitor, and they are disconnected when I sometimes turn it off.

And they still show up as usual in DCS after that.

I have no experience with the MFDs but I think they should be the same.

For the problem of USBDeview not turning the ports off, maybe check the USB device power settings in Windows, if it is allowed to turn them off.

And check USBDeview if it is set up to use USB power settings as well.

Hi there Crunchy.

I have a 10 slot usb hub plugged into the back of my computer. I play DCS World, some driving games, Arma 3, Elite Dangerous and a couple others.

I have my USB hub labelled with all the various controllers I use. I simply leave the Hub empty of controllers and when I decide what game I am going to play I simply plug the appropriate harware in. I have slots for my Saitek Rudder Pedals, a Seitek Yoke and throttle, my Thrustmaster Joystick, my Thrustmaster Throttle, my Saitek MFD's (Left one and right one), my homemade UFC for the A-10C, my Microsft Sidewinder joystick, my Logitech Hand controller and a Microsft Steering Wheel.

I have no problem with any of the games losing there assignments. I just make sure that everything I need for that particular game is plugged into the usb hub before I start the game. I have labels on the end of the controllers usb cable for quick identification. Just plug it in, play the game, and then unplug it when finished. My computer is always on when I'm plugging in and unplugging the controllers.

Try it and see if it works for you. It should be ok, I don't seem to have any problems. Not sure what would happen if I started the game without the controller plugged in, I avoid that situation.

No problem swapping out controllers for me. I do it all the time.

For a Warthog profile, you just have to remember to plug them back in, in the right order so that device id is always the same (can effect using the Warthog profile).

Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6gig

The worse that can happen is that your controller has a new ID when reconnected to the computer, if you use a different port.

In that case you only need to copy the configurations files from the old controller to the new controller.

They are located in Saved Games directory, example for my WH:

\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\joystick\Joystick - HOTAS Warthog {89141D80-9A0F-11e2-8001-444553540000}.diff.lua

This file contains everything, mapping and axis tuning.
