  1. I agree that in a lot of Flight Sims it is best to turn off HT.
  2. It's smooth as glass because it's not like a 45 fps cap like you get with some programs. Some of the frames you are getting are being filled in instead. Take a look at this YouTube clip (below).
  3. That's strange, it runs smooth as butter for me and like I already mentioned you are not capping it at 30 fps because frames are being filled in. You should try 90Hz with motion vector because that's what mine is set to. I haven't tried motionvector with 60Hz because it's really smooth at 90Hz without stuttering or ghosting. Edit: I just looked at you specs and you have a better rig then me too. I only have a SkyLake 6700k overclocked to 4.5 Ghz, but I do have a Geforce 2080ti like you.
  4. Just do it so it looks like this (below). I also use Notepad++ to edit it with because it's much easier. Here's the link for Notepad++ if you don't have it. https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/ "driver_Holographic_Experimental" : { // Motion reprojection doubles framerate through motion vector extrapolation // motionvector = force application to always run at half framerate with motion vector reprojection // auto = automatically use motion reprojection when the application can not maintain native framerate "motionReprojectionMode" : "motionvector",
  5. I use motion vector because switching it to auto leads to horrible stuttering and ghosting when looking out to the left and right of the cockpit. Having motionvector works great with no stuttering or ghosting when looking out to the left and right. When you use motion vector you are still getting 90fps , because what motion vector does is fill in the frames in between. So you might think you are getting only 45 fps when in fact you are getting 90 fps because one frame is filled in. Motionvector isn't just like capping your frame rate at 45 fps because it's filling in frames in between.
  6. Why have you changed your setting to "motionvector" instead of leaving it set at "auto"? I thought motionvector was so that you got 45fps? How are you getting 30 fps when motionvector sets it to 45 fps?
  7. I thought Vulcan was mainly for AMD and where does it say Wags are developing a new core system with Vulcan for 7 years now?
  8. Are you capping your fps to be 45 fps, or is this just what you get in DCS? I find looking out to the left and right of the cockpit stutters if my fps are up and down and I get terrible ghosting when seeing other aircraft. Does the new Nvidia driver that has a fps setting allow you to cap DCS at 45 fps in VR?
  9. I couldn't go back to flat screen DCS now, but why don't the DCS devs create a map just for VR using lower textures etc? I'm sure if they created a less detailed map for VR then it would allow those who use it to have better fps would it not?
  10. Setting where exactly? I don't see it in Steam VR either?
  11. Where is the Super sample filter setting? I don't see it anywhere in DCS settings?
  12. Well the distance was 120 miles but it picked it up at first. I then climbed to 320000ft, to see if I could pick it up again, but I'm guessing it's probably due to the distance then, correct? One other question though if it is due to the distance. Say I select my destination and the Tacan picks it up at first and then losses it. Would it then automatically pick it back up again if I flew in that direction and got closer, or would I have to clear the tacan and set it back up again when I was closer? Cheers!
  13. I'm new to the F18, but I seem to have a problem with the Tacan and didn't know if it's a bug or something I'm doing wrong? I click on the left DDi, select Hsi and then highlight Tacan. I then press TCN on the the function keys, clear the current number 1 and input the Tacan of the airfield I want. After that I press enter and the DDi shows the Tacan symbol, miles to go etc. But then suddenly the Tacan symbol on the DDI is no longer there and neither is the miles to go etc. All that remains is a spinning arrow on the DDi? I then try the same procedure to get it all back to how it was, but it doesn't work? What am I doing wrong? Anyone any idea's why it should work at first then suddenly not?
  14. I have just installed the DCS World Beta, but already have my controls setup for the F18 in the none Beta version of DCS World. Does anyone know a way I can just import the none DCS Beta controls settings into the Beta of DCS World? I don't want to have to do all these control settings again because it takes time. Thanks!
  15. Well it is working, but unlike in the A10C where you can nudge the throttle forward, I have to press Shitf & Home and Alt & Home when starting the engines up? Why won't it let me nudge the throttle forward like it does in the A10C?
  16. I found out what it is but can seem to do a thing about it. My HP Reverb just keeps telling me I have lost the Boundary. What can I do to improve this because no matter what I try, like brighter lights and things on the wall etc. It still comes back with that message. I have tried clearing the environment in settings and resetting up the Boundary but it still doesn't work I still get lost boundary message. Also reinstalled Mixed reality Portal and Steam VR and still the same.
  17. One of my issues was I had that Windows Y key set to auto, but it's helped now that I have switched to manual. I am now able to do all the DCS menus in DCS and alt tab when I need to. The problem was having it set to auto and not clicking on the DCS icon on the task bar or in the game window in DCS, but it's working now.
  18. What makes you think I am getting frustrated with ED? The blue bar thingy is a WMR option that has nothing to do with ED. I'm just saying I have a problem that I can't seem to fix which is making the game unplayable for me. Anyways, I already had that setting checked in VR, which I explained in my post. I just wondering if they are going to support native WMR instead of using Steam VR because they mentioned this sometime ago. I don't frequent these forums regular, so for all I know they might have said they are no-longer doing native native WMR support.
  19. Just purchased a HP Reverb and when I press alt + enter to get the full DCS screen on my desktop it just remains the same? This causes me to have problems with switches in the sim because my mouse is moving out of this small DCS desktop window. Also, if I go into the VR setting in DCS and tick the mouse to not move out of the game window, it still manages to move out and I end up clicking things on my task bar. Can anyone else alt + enter in this sim using WMR and get a full DCS screen?.Why wouldn't it be working for me if you can do this? Any idea's? I also thought wags were going to give us native WMR support for this sim, so when is that coming?
  20. I purchased the HP Reverb recently, which is a WMR headset, but I just can't get DCS to work with it properly due to a blue bar that comes up on my screen at the top. In this bar it says to Win + Y to use the desktop instead of the headset. Now here's the problem I'm experiencing. The only time I can click alt + enter to go to full screen to stop the mouse moving out of the game window in DCS, is when this Mixed Reality portal window is on top of the DCS window. This is no good though because as soon as I press alt enter it is the the Mixed reality window that goes to full screen and I lose the mouse function in DCS and the HP Reverb. The only way I can use DCS at the moment is by using the small windows of DCS displayed on my desktop, I can't make the DCS window go full screen pressing alt + enter? This obviously causes all sorts of problems like the mouse moving out of the window when trying to press switches in the sim. I have tried the setting in DCS to set the mouse to not to move out of the gaming window in DCS settings but it still does and I end up clicking things on my task bar etc. I just wish there was a way to disable this terrible blue bar with this Win + Y key because I just can't play DCS in VR properly. I just can't get the DCS screen to go full screen pressing alt enter and get the mouse to work in the DCS unless it's just in the the small window DCS screen? I thought that wags were going to do native WMR support for this and I have spent a lot of money on this sim for VR, which is unplayable for me due these problem. I just pray someone can help me with this because it's beyond frustrating. Failing that are they going to support native WMR like they said they would?
  21. Great thanks for all the help. I have it working now. Didn't know the speed brake retracts when your gear is down though. Isn't that a bit silly because I always used to land the A10C with the speed brake deployed and the gear down. I felt having the speed brake deployed really helped with landing the A10C.
  22. So is it best to have flaps set to auto most of the time on the F18, and if not under what circumstances would it be best not to have them set to auto? Thanks!
