hartonfamily Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Hi all! I recently purchased a boxed copy of A-10C from Amazon. It is installed and works. So I googled DCS A-10C patches, because of course everything needs a patch these days, and couldn't find anything for it specifically, but it looks like it has been integrated into DCS world. (I'm sure that makes sense to everyone else here, but I didn't know about any of this until the other day) So I download and installed DCS world, and it looks like a cool platform for all of their games, but I can't figure out a way to let it know that I already have A-10C installed. My main concern from what little i can find is that it also serves as kind of a steam like platform which will auto update it, and make sure it is all patched up, which is really all I am looking for. Could anyone let me know how I do this, or barring that, is there any place I can just find stand alone patches/updates? Ty!
Sryan Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 the old standalone hasn't been updated in a long time! it's all integrated into DCS world now. go here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ on the top right, make an account and bind your A-10C serial key to it. ingame, login and then go to the module manager ( it's a button on top ). From there you can download A-10C for DCS world. You can then play The A-10C in DCS world and that has all the latest stuff. Check my F-15C guide
Zabuzard Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 (edited) DCS World manages your products via your account. You can set up an account at their website: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ (click at login and then at register) After you have created an account you can bind products via a serial number to your account. (bottom left in your profile) After clicking 'Check' you can click 'Bind to my account'. After the product is bound to your account you can login to your account in DCS World. In the top left corner of the main menu there is the 'module manager'. From there you can install your A-10C for your DCS World. Edited March 20, 2016 by Zabuza 2
Paganus Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Expanding on what Sryan said... There is no reason to install A-10 from the disc you purchased. You can un-install it. You will use the key that came with what you purchased to authenticate your copy of A-10C inside DCSWorld as Sryan described. DCSWorld phones home to know what modules you own, which is why you want to create the account and add your key to it. With DCSWorld you will also gain access to 2 free aircraft Welcome aboard!
hartonfamily Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 Thanks everyone for the responses! Thanks to you guys A-10 is downloading now through the DCS World interface. I appreciate it!
